Kingston Digital DataTraveler GE9 2.0 (DTGE9/16GBZ)

I really like these simple strong and cleverly designed sticks. They are metal and not plastic and they function quite well. I needed a stick to make a system recovery backup that required 27GB an could not find one. I stumbled onto these units and bought the 32GB for the recovery backup. I bought this 16GB and the 8GB just because they appeared to be so useful. When they came in, I immediately made the recovery backup and put it away. It is strong enough to carry on a key ring, just as the 16GB and 8GB seem to be. Get these units. You will not be disappointed. Some of the reviews for computer-geeks say they are somewhat slower than some other brands but I cannot tell any difference.

Add my vote for this as a great little USB flash drive! There may be a newer(?) version (DTGE9/16GBZET), but I can't tell what, if any, actual differences there are between this "Z" model and the "ZET" model. I noticed that the Z model has an earlier "Date first available at Amazon.com" and the "ZET" seems to come in a couple more capacities. I doubt there are any significant differences, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy either one.I've had my "Z" model for over a year, and love it for its size, weight, and appearance (very classy). Its narrowness allows you to use multiple closely-spaced USB ports like those on my MacBook Pro. I also like that it has flat sides, making it easy to stick on a (small) label.Mine lives mostly in a drawer and is used infrequently, so I can't verify its durability and haven't tested its speed, but I recommend this USB 2.0 device for everyone unless you have some specific special need.

I have been searching a long time for the perfect flash drive to keep on my keyring. (LaCie came so close but ultimately failed with their oversized, cheaply built "key shaped" product.) At last Kingston finally seems to have come up with the PERFECT design for a USB flash drive to keep on my keyring! It is the perfect (small) size, and fits very nicely on my keyring! I still have a few minor complaints though...PROS-Perfect physical size. This item is actually MUCH SMALLER and thinner than it looks in the photos!-Brilliant design, including a hole that is just the right size for storing on a keyring! Does not add unnecessary bulk to your keys!-Well-constructed and durable.-You could fit a few of these on one keyring if you wanted to.-Great price!*CONS-Ultra-thin Gold electroplating began wearing off within a few days of being on my keyring. *Save your money and buy the NON-gold-plated version of this product, which now comes in 32GB and 64GB sizes!: Kingston Digital DataTraveler SE9 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive(DTSE9H/16GBZ) -16GB is the largest storage size that is currently available for the gold product. I would have much preferred a 32gb or 64gb size so I don't HAVE to keep more than one of these on my keyring!-Slow. This is definitely not the fastest USB flash drive out there.I would have gladly paid more for a FASTER transfer rate. I knocked off one star for that, and one star for the useless gold coating that wears off far too easily. Other than that, GREAT product!

My husband originally got this storage device because it is so compact and fits easily on a key ring without adding any weight (as keys do). He's been very pleased with it. I commented on his and how compact and handy it seemed. About 2 weeks later he surprised me with one of my own. I am a professor and am always taking my keys to unlock classrooms where I teach. This handy device is on my key ring and I never forget the PowerPoint lecture slides I need. Good buy and well worth it.

I have eight of these: two in gold, six in silver. The gold ones look great, but the plating does start to fade/scratch off pretty quickly, especially on a key ring. Hence the 1 star deduction. The insert-able area that fits inside the USB port is particularly vulnerable to scratches when inserting or removing from a PC.These are small, light, discrete, and are perfect for a key ring. No failures on any of mine so far.

This USB stick has a great slim profile, and is easy to take anywhere.There isn't much to complain about. As much as I like the slim profile, that is the one downfall as well. I almost lost the thing because I couldn't feel it in my pocket.It's tough too. As I mentioned, I couldn't feel it in my pocket. As a result, it went through both the washer and the dryer, and came out working perfectly. Certainly not the ideal way to "use" it, but I was surprised that it held up. It hasn't given me a single problem since.

When I am about to purchase something I read the bad reviews, not the good ones, so I can get a picture of what can go wrong rather than how satisfied someone may be with the product. Looking at the reviews, one of the arguments I've read over and over is that the unit fits loosely to the USB outlet and that the connections aren't that great and also that it takes a while to back up the units.Well, I took a chance and I haven't seeing none of the sorts. The unit fits very tight. So far, and I repeat, so far, I am pretty happy with this unit in all respects. I use it to create daily backups of my documents. I do copy roughly speaking about 2 and half megabytes daily. Not a crazy amount but it does it in a snap. It is a lot smaller in real life than it looks online so it goes fantastic on the key chain.So, what can I say, I am pretty happy with it. I purchased two of them thinking they were from different manufacturer so the chances of both failing for the same reasons and at the same time would be minimized. Turns out they were both the same unit type with just different colors.

Bought this a long time ago but forgot to leave a review. Amazingly this USB key has worked flawlessly, attached to my keychain and is subject to all kinds of abuse but still works fine after all this time. Geat value for the money.. Only complaint is I wish it was USB 3.0 !!. No issues wish shipping.

The USB looks and feels very avant-garde. However, when you connect it in a computer, it tends to leave scratches on the usb, which makes it looked used and old. Still it is nice and a great buy

I like having a thumbdrive on my keychain. But usually usb drives are made of plastic and the dongle will break after a while. This usb stick, having an all metal design is proving to be very sturdy.
