Canadian Spa - Rio Grande (Model 1) Portable Spa / Hot Tub - 4 Person

Great while it lasted. Unfortunately it didn't last long - after about 8 months or so, a seam split on the inflatable inner tube. Credit to Amazon who were good enough to provide a refund.

I’ve had this hot tub for a year and I’m glad I was not put off my the negative reviews as it’s been wonderful for us.The assembly instructions are pretty useless however there are you tube videos that we found helpful. Now we know how to assemble it, moving it and reassembling is quick and easy once you have drained the water.The hot tub feels sturdy and after a year of regular use ( we did pack it away in the winter) it is not leaking or showing any signs of wear.It accommodates 4 adults, 5 at a squeeze. Although it’s great without the children as you can lie back, stretch out and really relax.Maintenance is pretty straightforward. We replace the filter monthly, I buy them from Canadian Spa Uk £46 for 3 microban filters. We clean the filter by running under a fierce shower head every few days. We use 20g chlorine tablets in a little hopper a couple of tablets at a time keeps it well chlorinated for at least a week. We also use a clarifying liquid fortnightly and we use foam reducer as and when needed. Overall maintence is quick and easy and we have maintained clean sparkling water.The hot tub heats up to 40c but you would really only want it this hot on chilly evenings. We keep ours at 37c or 35c on really hot days. The water cools down as you use the bubbles and after half an hour the water will have cooled by 4 or 5 c but heats up to temperature within a couple of hours with the thermal lid on.The bubble bar is a ring all the way round the bottom of the hot tub do you get a fairly decent massage wherever you sit. It really is wonderful after a long hard day of work to sit in the tub with a glass of wine. We’ve had many long summer evenings in and out of the hot tub with friends and family and have not regretted purchasing for a moment.

We bought this to replace the Lazyspa Tahiti which lasted less than a season and kept deflating. Betway's after sales are dreadful, so we decided to go with the Canadian Spa although it was double the price of the Lazyspa. Well, you get what you pay for. The quality is so much more robust and although the other half had a slight problem with the set up, the help line were quick to respond and get the problem sorted. We also find it cheaper to run than the old one, which to be honest was a bit like and adapted paddling pool! I would definitely recommend the Canadian Spa over the cheaper inflatables. Even the other half is impressed, which takes some doing. My only (very picky) issue is that the interior is a little on the small side with the hubster being 6ft 5, but otherwise the Rio Grand gets a big thumbs up! Next stop Grand Rapids (but not for a few years though)!

very dissapointed with product has had to be returned to canadian spa co twice re heater/ pump not working, and on one occasion the new pump was not new but a repaired unit which was also faulty. if any further problems persist I will be seeking a full refund from yourselves, as this item was only purchased about 6 weeks ago and as stated has been returned twice and has only been in use for approx 2 weeks

We have been looking at these type of Spas for a while and this one seemed pretty much the best at the price. Since we bought it we have used it every day and are absolutely delighted with it and would highly recommend it. It does what it says on the tin, is extremely well made and a lot of fun.

Fab item, the heater system didn’t work for long though

Very disappointed with the Canadian Spa service and product quality.  We purchased the Grand Rapids, choosing it because of the depth. The first fault was the interconnecting pipe leaked. There was a spare but canadian spar refused to replace the faulty piece. It worked great for a while but soon things started going wrong. The pump was making a grinding noise and the bladder lining split. All within the first month. I sent it back to Canadian Spa asking for a replacement but they repaired the lining and denied any fault with the pump. I was lied to by two people in the Canadian spa office. Took it back to B&Q who were brilliant. Swapped it for an INTEX which is a brilliant spa. Had the INTEX two months and its great. Thank goodness for B&Q.
