Screw stripped out & couldn't even use it.

I had ordered this with the intention to put on a small 50cc ATV for kids. It wasn't until after I got it that I realized the throttle cable was a Y cable that activated both the throttle and oil pump. Other issue was the brake lever was built into the throttle box so I'd have to remove a brake lever and disable the oil pump system and use premix gas. I opted to disassemble the cable and fix the end stop that came off.However, this kit comes with everything you'd need to fix a throttle system with a single cable that only goes to the carburetor. The aluminum housing should be sufficient, seems sturdy enough. Probably the weakest part is the plastic tube that will slip around the handlebar and rotate to activate the throttle, but at this price it would be a quick fix. The kill button isn't obtrusive where it should get pressed and kill the engine unless you press it yourself. The rubber grips seem nicely made. I think it'd be a fine kit to fix a broken unit if it'll be compatible with your application.

Works great easy to use and set up

This was just about a plug and play for my Honda 4 trax quad and was as easy as take one off and put the other in it's place. I say almost plug and play because originally the quad came with a thumber and I converted it, with the original I needed to drill a new mounting hole for the switch very easy to do, so don't let that turn you away. I do think this will hold up longer than the first set up I was using but I took a star off due to the, I don't know grittiness or scratchy feeling I get when actuating it, even after lubing the cable and other components very well still not as smooth as the last seemingly much cheeser, cheaper previous pile of cow nuggets. The new one seemes better in every way besides that gravel infused lube they use at the factory. Maybe it will smooth out in time... Or snap leaving me stranded and using my finger to run the throttle... Been there, good times.

5 stars. The twist grip was packaged great and works perfectly. It operates smoothly and has no signs of getting stuck. I wish it came with instructions. Despite this, I was able to figure out the assembly process without any trouble.
