Accurate and sharp corner cutter
A replacement t for a 'lost' original angled cutter the replacement was as good as the original. A relief to find it still available.

Total junk. Impossible to get straight lines with this ...
Total junk. Impossible to get straight lines with this hugely overpriced tool. It it didn't even come with blades (despite saying it did). Avoid

Practice first helps
Firstly, mine came with the pack of blades which were INSIDE the handle of the cutter, not loose. I have another 45 degree mount cutter that has the blade permanently out which is easier to use. With this model you need to apply pressure to extend the blade all the time you are cutting which takes a bit of getting used to. I also used clamps to secure one end of the guide ruler. When used correctly the device clean neat bevel cuts in mount board. One final tip, it says to align the ruler 25mm from the cut line. 23mm is better.

BLADES INCLUDED
Well now… the amount of people stating that they can’t use the product because it comes with NO blades… THE BLADES ARE IN THE HANDLE!It took me about 15 seconds to figure this out and it’s wonderful. I hate when I’m using a knife or cutter and I put the blades somewhere safe and then I can never find them! Well not to worry with this kit! The blades fit inside the handle just slide it to the side and boom… BLADES.It works incredible well and has saved me from wobbly cuts using a scalpel and very shoddy cuts at 45 degrees! I am thrilled with this simple addition to my studio :)

Missing blades
The product itself is fine, but as with other people who have purchased this cutter, it does not come with the blades. However, I did report it to customer services and they were able to issue me with a partial refund so that I can purchase the blades separately. Can't comment on ease of use yet as I have no blades!

Does exactly what it's supposed to do
If you've used this system before it's fast and accurate. If not there are a number of guides on YouTube. My only concern is that spare blades appear difficult to find online or at my local arts/office supply businesses - hopefully temporarily and not a sign that this system is being phased out.You must use this cutter with the matching profiled ruler, without the ruler it would be impossible to make a straight bevelled cut - I bought this as a spare.

Useless without the specific Maped guiding ruler
Without the Maped ruler that this tool clicks onto, it is useless.Note: The ruler is not sold separately on Amazon... it is however sold together with a 90° and a 45° cutting tool... making this (expensive) purchase a waste of my time and my money... :(The base of the tool has recesses that clicks onto the specific ruler (see photos).. Try using it with a normal ruler, is guaranteed to spoil your day and absolutely ruin your project...Unless you are buying this to replace the cutter from 60cm ruler and cutter combination sale, i wouldn't bother...

Excellent cutter, check for the blades
I have used the Maped cutter with the Maped rule to cut picture mounts for many years. This was bought as a replacement for my old cutter. It cuts nice and straight and is very smooth. The only problem was the five blades that were supposed to come with the cutter were missing and the subsequent replacement also had the blades missing. Amazon resolved the situation by refunding part of the cost which will now buy a pack of five blades. I would definately recommend the cutter.
