Printhead Hospitalcleaning kit for Brother MFC DCP and INKvestment inkjet printers - 150ml

I own a Brother MFC-J45100W printer, the black had started fading and stopped printing altogether. Quick search on the web showed that it was possible to clean the print head I was a bit concerned about this working, but thought I would give it a try before buying a new printer. I ordered the cleaning kit arrived and it arrived within a few days which was excellent.Using the kit is straight forward. The instructions are very clear and if you get stuck, there are excellent YouTube videos from the Printhead Hospital demonstrating the whole cleaning process. The only awkward part I found was fitting the tube to the printer nozzle, but this more to do with the limited access to the nozzle. (I only had a blockage with the black ink, but had to remove the yellow cartridge in order to have space to work with).I applied 4ml of the solution waited about 10 minutes and then applied a further 1ml. The first test print showed some success but was very poor. I ran two printer cleaning cycles (as mentioned in the instructions) and the final test print result was outstanding.The kit comes with 2 x 50ml bottles of fluid which equates to about 20 cleans. I will probably clean the nozzles every time I replace cartridges in order to prevent future blockages.This is an excellent product which I would highly recommend.

Got good results and found the kit fairly easy to use. My problem was blocked black print head which cleared in a single flush - left cleaner in head for half an hour or so.Only complaint was that on arrival I found cleaning fluid had leaked slightly. The leak was only a few mls and after using 7ml for a black cleaning cycle I still have enough fluid left for another 15 - 20 cleaning cycles. Print after cleaning is at least as good as when the machine was new several years ago.

To help others, this review includes specific information as to how the product solved a problem with my printer:The printer in question is the Brother MFC-J5330DW which is approximately 6 months old and has been used daily, primarily for office type work. After-market (extra large capacity) print cartridges have been used for all 4 colours. In recent weeks the black print nozzles have been blocking, leading to missing lines and feint print etc. The other colours have been fine. The on board software cleaning method worked fine in so far as it soon restored perfect printing. However, the Big issue was that within literally 2 to 3 pages of work, the nozzles were blocking up again, so something was definitely not okay, and it started to get very irritating having to constantly go through the self clean cycles etc, only for the problem to recur so quickly.Before taking this printer to the local recycling centre, I purchased this print head cleaning kit. I followed the instructions included and the on line video tutorials to the letter and in summary, this printer is now working back to 100% reliability, which is such a relief.For those wanting to know a little more about my experience using this kit, I would add the following:I used my own kitchen paper wrapped in several folds to catch the cleaning solution/ink residue etc. When I manually moved the print head over the fresh paper, even before using the cleaning solution, I was amazed at how much black “graphite” looking residue deposited itself onto the paper. This I strongly suspect, was the cause of the problems.Surprisingly, but thankfully, the injection of the cleaning fluid required hardly any pressure through the syringe. I injected the solution very slowly as it quickly soaks the kitchen paper towel below the head. After injecting a bit of the solution, I kept manually moving the print head gently back and forth, moving it to a clean bit of paper towel as necessary, and repeating. I then left the solution in for about 90 minutes, before completing the process.After reinserting a new Black cartridge, the test print initially showed some missing black lines, which was disheartening. However, the instructions did say that it may require up to 4 of the printer’s own cleaning cycle to complete the process. Thankfully after 3 self cleans, the test print was free of missing lines. Importantly, this printer has since done lots of printing with zero issues, all working fine.In conclusion, I have to say that this excellent product, combined with great customer instructions/support, delivered exactly what it promised, and I have retained the remaining solution for when the process needs repeating at sometime in future.For me this kit scores 10 out of 10.

Product did not work for my printer after following all the instructions and watching their video online.If you haven't used it before, it is easy to use and the kit does its job perfectly. Be prepared for the messy liquid when you flush the printhead.If your printhead is heavily blocked like mine, then I doubt it would work for you. However, it is worth trying this kit before you take out your credit card to buy a new printer.5-star for their customer service. There is a follow up message after sale to check how you are getting on with the cleaning, which is a fantastic initiative from them. The live up to their refund promise if the cleaning kit fails to do its job. This gives you a sense of security and confidence buying from them.

I have a Brother DCP J4120DW the black ink had completely stopped printing. The self cleaning function made no difference.The guarantee on it had just expired , so as a last resort I decided to try this ink cleaning kit.I contacted the technical support about a query I had and they replied straight away.I ordered the kit on Saturday night and it arrived the following morning on Easter Sunday, thanks to Amazon Prime.I watched the short you tube video that Printhead Hospital have and then followed the written instructions that come with the kit, which are quite clear and easy to follow.After using the kit , I used the self clean function and the black ink started to show on the test print. I did another two self cleans and the black ink is now printing without any problems.You get 150ml of cleaning fluid . My print head just required one clean , which used 6ml of fluid. Hopefully I won’t get the problem with any of my other inks in future, but if I do, I still have plenty of cleaning fluid left.If the kit does not work, Printhead Hospital offer technical advice, and if still unsuccessful they will refund £10 of the cost, which I think is a pretty good deal.I would recommend this kit. It might save you having to buy a new printer .
