Simple but beautiful napkins made of top-quality linen -- great for lining bread baskets, too...
These are lovely linen napkins. I ordered the natural version and the color is a variegated medium-light beige. The fabric is fairly thick and feels durable; it has the characteristic plain-woven texture and appearance of French linen. The stitching is very well done -- the hems are neatly sewn, with small straight and even stitches. The corners are sharply finished and square; they are double-turned and are not bulky. But they are not the true mitered corners mentioned in the product description (where the fabric meets at a 45 degree angle at the corner). These are generously sized and are perfect to use as napkins, but they would also be great for drying china and glassware as they don't leave lint. I bake quite a bit and I ordered these to use to line my bread baskets -- they have a rustic, home-spun look that is absolutely charming. I washed them in cool water followed by line-drying before using them for the first time and there was no shrinkage, twisting or loss of shape and there are no loose or pulled threads. They feel soft and have a nice drape. They can be ironed for a crisp look or left as is for a more causal, slightly rumpled appearance. The sewn-in label verified that these are made in China of 100% French flax + the Oeko-Tex trademark. The current price of $31.99 seems very reasonable for these well made, high quality napkins.

Rustically elegant – but ironing them takes time and patience!
So, these dinner napkins are beautifully made. The weave is even and the napkins have a soft hand to the fabric. When they arrive, they look so beautiful, so smooth! They are a natural Linen color, a light beige, and go well in an informal setting. The napkins are nicely absorbent, and do the job that napkins are generally intended to do. If you use these napkins, be prepared for compliments from your dinner guests!Be sure to remember those compliments the next day; you’ll need those happy thoughts to get you through laundering and ironing! These napkins are a dream to launder – even wine and tomato sauce come out easily. I find that Linen is fairly stain-proof if cleaned soon after the spill. This is quality fabric, and quite durable. The nightmare occurs when you try to iron them. My best advice is to iron them *immediately* upon removing them from the washer. After the last spin cycle, they are *just* damp enough to be ironable. Don’t even think of putting them on a line or in a dryer – you will end up having to spray them with water simply to make the cloth workable!Use your hottest iron and work slowly; Linen is well able to take the heat, and needs it for the fibers to bend straight. If the sole plate on your iron is worn, it may drag, and trust me – Linen will crease in a heartbeat! If the wrinkles aren’t coming out to your satisfaction, mist the fabric lightly with water and DO NOT use steam! Tempting as it may be, avoid using starch or sizing, no matter how light, as they will build up on your iron and begin to drag, causing new creases and wrinkles. Linen is a luxury fabric and worth the effort, but be aware that you *will* need to make that effort for it to appear well on your table. I generally take 5-10 minutes per napkin, including setting the fold creases; the time adds up for a large party. If you are patient and work slowly, your napkins will looks as nice as they did when you first received them. Until the next dinner party, that is!

Excellent workmanship, high quality fabric
I ordered the natural color napkins and am very happy with them. The finished edges are 'perfect' (expertly sewn with no gaps, overlaps, or loose threads). The color is exactly what I expected natural linen to look like. There isn't any coloring or off-tones in the fabric.I've washed these about a half dozen times now and they seem to get softer with each wash. Guests have commented about what nice napkins they are. One of our guests said that she avoided linen because it wrinkled so easily. When I told her that I simply wash and dry these napkins and then fold them without ironing she was surprised. There may be some very light wrinkling left by not ironing them, but they are mostly smooth. One day at dinner Hubs accidentally tipped over his water glass and immediately put the linen napkin on it. These napkins are very absorbent!I love everything about these napkins and plan on ordering another set. The price is good for such high-quality fabric and workmanship.

Smooth texture, nicely made
These are similar to other cloth napkins I use. They are very smooth but still absorb water and oils good. There were no loose stitches on the edges and the color is neutral to go with just about any place setting. They are linen so they'll wrinkle. You'll probably want to iron them. I have some other brands that do the same thing. After washing, they come out wrinkled. A few seconds with a steam iron and they look sharp again. Not a big deal if you want linen napkins.

Nice linen with many uses
The CUSSIOU Linen Napkins Cloth Dinner Napkins Set of 4 –Natural, 20 x 20 Inch – 100% Pure Linen Dinner Napkins Washable French Flax for Spring, Dining Table, Buffet Parties and Camping, Kitchen, Holiday are made of a nice smooth linen that feels good to the touch. They are excellent for everyday use, good quality but not anything fancy. The larger size means they can be used for other things besides just napkins - basket covers for picnics, accent squares on table cloths to put a vase or decor on or even a head covering if you are the kind of person that makes one out of a cloth tied with knots. They will soften up with washing and the natural flax color means they don't show dirt as easily. These are also a great way to stop using paper napkins as much.

Cussiou Linen Napkins
The "natural" color is as indicated in the product description. Very pretty, but not terribly absorbent, although I expect that will change with more washings. And they're linen so remember that ironing will be involved if you want to recapture that fresh, new appearance.
