This is a great unit to have inside the boiler room to provide you with a peace of mind for under $20.While natural gas is not odorless, you might not notice the leak until too late especially during your sleep or when you are away. Just plug this unit to an electric outlet near the boiler or gas dryer and it will sound the alarm when it detects the gas leak. You can easily test the unit near the kitchen range by letting the gas out a little without the flame. Works very well and is reliable. Very happy with the purchase, especially since I will have one less thing to worry about from house safety point of view.

Purchased 10/23, has now started getting false alarms. With a 10 year life expectancy, I went back to Amazon to get it replaced. It is no longer available. I feel like I have been taken.

I got this to use in our little off grid cabin that uses propane in it just as a precaution. Works as described. Easy to use and function. Lightweight. Loud alarm. Great value for the money.

Left the stove on without the pilot lit. Thought I smelled gas, so I left the windows open as a precaution. It wasn’t until the next morning that I found the stove on and had been releasing gas all night. This thing had not activated. I’ve since bought other gas detection devices, and this thing definitely gives a false peace of mind—that or the QC is seriously flawed.

The product came quickly and really works. I bought this when my stove broke down and when it started ringing I knew there was a leak somewhere in the stove. Without this detector we would never have known there was a leak! good results.

I bought 2 of these alarms and installed one near the natural gas stove and one in the utility room near the gas dryer. After a few months, the one by the stove alarmed for several minutes, then the levels showing started dropping and finally cleared. I exchanged the alarms. After a few hours the one that had been near the stove, now in the utility room, started alarming. Same deal. Decided this alarm senser is falty and too late to return it and cannot get in contact with the manufacture. Won't buy another.
