Sebago Men's Litesides Two Eye Boat Shoes

I liked the comfort of the Liteside Deck shoes but couldn't get the dark brown "oiled" versions so I purchased these, sanded and flatted down any rough spots and soaked them in salt water for 24hours to break them in quicker and oiled them using Vaselline. Sounds weird but they look perfect, but are "new" and have the great patina of well worn shoes.I would detract a "star" in remembrance of the pain inflicted on my ankles during the breaking-in process but it could be argued this was my own doing. I recommend NOT going for a walk with wet shoes to break them in, as is often recommended, at least not a long walk. As it was a cold day I could not feel the abrasion to my skin and, with having reduced diabetic sensation anyway, exposed my ankle bones on both feet. Took Six weeks to heal but all fine now.I have added some gel Plantar Fascia pads for extra comfort. Testament to their comfort (now), and since my feet have healed, they have become firm favourites.As the old saying goes..."No pain, no gain". I would add that the gain may be less proportional to the pain in some cases.

Very comfy and light. Prefer the litesides by far to the regukar Senago boating shoes even if a little flimsy. Reason for just 4 stars is after 6 months of using (perhaps 4-5 times a month) the laces broke, and a pain to replace, so just use one show with a shorter knot. Would I buy again, yes and hope they come up with more litesides in different colours. A little pricey, but you pay for the brand and the quality of stitching.

The construction of the shoe being leather inner and out is good for wearing without socks and is of excellent appearance. Can be used as a deck or boat shoe on several sufaces with minimal slip.

An excellent boat shoe, a perfect fit and very comfortable to wear. The sole disperses water well and I feel secure walking around the deck in wet conditions. All you need in a boat shoe!

Having worn docksides / sebagos for many years and generally found them comfortable and reliable I bought this new pair - WHICH ARE NOT CHEAP. Within one day of wearing the right rear sole insert peeled off (See picture). I glued it back on. Now after not even three weeks of use the right front main sole insert is peeling off. I will have to pull it off to glue it back on or wait for more to come off while constantly catching the sole while wearing?! Totally unacceptable for a £100 shoe.. any shoe. This might have been a one-off freak manufacturing error (not sure how complicated glueing a sole on a shoe is..) but my advice is avoid these!

If you suspect that you may find their fit too tight,just change to the W( wide ) fitting which they offer.This fitting I find the most comfortable to wear.

Had same style before but these are nice and light to walk in. Will look at ordering other colour when in stock.
