Update: I've now obtained a second one and just ordered a third because of the unbeatable (possibly unmatched) quality I see in this product. It is definitely unmatched for the price. DO NOT BE TURNED AWAY BY THE WHINING REGARDING THE ALLEGED DIFFICULTY BREAKING IN THE HOLSTER! Both holsters I obtained required mere hours to break in - the second literally within 1 hour. All I did for the second was spray some "Quick Draw" holster treatment into the holster, holstered the gun, and it was ready to use the very day I got it. Be sure to get the correct one for your firearm, and you shouldn't have any problem at all. (end of update) ... As with many gun owners, I've gone through the frustrating and ultimately expensive process of searching for the "perfect" holster. I have a large box full of holsters that I bought and ended up not using. Since Amazon frowns upon mentioning competing products I will refrain from identifying the other manufacturers except to say they represent all the major producers of OWB holsters. This 1791 holster is superior to them all. The quality is impeccable. The workmanship is precise and artfully done. The leather selection is top-notch and thicker than other manufacturers where thickness really counts. It also seems to hug the waist better than others, perhaps because its quality, thick leather doesn't droop or become overly stretched as can happen with lesser products. Basically, it is the best leather holster I've ever bought, and I've bought a LOT of OWB leather holsters. I much prefer leather due to scratches non-leather holsters have caused to a couple of my handguns and the comfort of pliable leather vs rigid plastic. Plus, I just don't think a gun feels "at home" in a piece of plastic. Since it is a relatively new company, the public isn't really aware of 1791 Gunleather's superior products. I, in fact, had never heard of them and accidentally discovered their existence when I recently purchased a holster for a Glock 23. It was one of a couple of holsters I thought I might like that came up in the Amazon search. It wasn't priced to break my pocketbook, and looked very well made. So, I figured I'd try it out. WOW! From the moment I opened the package and was bathed in the smell of leather I knew I had made a good purchase. I takes a little breaking in, and they provide instructions on how to do so. I, instead, simply pushed my gun into the holster and left it in my truck's center console the first day I used it in the hot south Texas summer weather while working in an office building that doesn't allow handgun carry. I guess the natural forces of summer heat with the gun holstered did the trick. It fits PERFECTLY - not too loose, not too snug, and hasn't loosened beyond a perfect fit since. Don't let folks who don't know about how to break in leather holsters turn you away. A leather holster SHOULD initially be very snug even to the point of possibly being difficult to insert the gun because all leather holsters will loosen up. Buy from 1791 Gunleather. You'll not regret it. I was so impressed that I'm now buying additional 1791 holsters for other handguns I regularly carry. They will be my holster of choice for every handgun, and my past holsters of choice will be tossed in the discarded holster box as secondary backups.

I'd read that a Glock 26/27 holster could fit a Smith and Wesson SW99 (or also a Walther P99, which is the same gun) and so took a chance on this one. The fit is perfect, after following the break-in recommendations it is perfectly snug and holsters well, without catching at the slide or trigger guard. The comfort at 3 o'clock is great, better than my Kydex holster by a long shot. Holds upside-down snuggly but isn't "grabby" when drawing.I 100% recommend this holster, particular if you have a SW99 or P99 and cannot find a good holster. Mine was in stock at Amazon and delivered next day with Prime shipping - no waiting 2 months for a craft production. I'd also like to say a word about the construction quality - it is astounding to see this kind of quality at this price point. The leather is solid and well finished, the color is excellent, the stitching is likewise robust and looks ready to stand up to heavy use for a long time. I've already bought a mag carrier and 1791 has earned my lifelong business.(If you cannot tell, you should totally buy this)

Nicest holster I have, and I have a few. Leather is thick and beautiful. It does take some break in, but you end up with a holster that is exactly the way you want it. Comfortable to wear and hold pistol ( G17) nice and tight. If you are looking for a leather holster, give this one a try!

Ordered this 1791 holster for my Glock 30S. It is a perfect fit and I especially like that it covers the trigger guard completely and still leaves room to fully grip the pistol on drawing. This is thick quality leather with perfectly smooth and polished edges all around including inside the belt loops. The stitching is uniform, tight and doubled where it should be.I followed the enclosed instructions. I put the pistol in the plastic bag the holster came in, inserted it completely in the holster and let it sit over night. The next day the pistol fit confidently snug with excellent retention and completely serviceable as is. I anticipate that it will keep getting better over the next week or so with daily ware. This holster rides good and tight on the hip at 3:00 or 3:30. The belt loops are good and snug. I had no difficulty threading my Hank's gun belt with just a little effort. This holster will not slide around on a good gun belt. It is going to stay right where you want it.I chose the flat black finish for two reasons. First, it is a perfect match for the Glock's flat grey/black finish. The second reason is that even though it will be worn under a cover garment (most of the time), I don't like drawing unnecessary attention when/if it is exposed to public view. This the perfect utility holster for the perfect utility pistol, in my opinion.

The surface finish and the quality of the leather as well as the sickness or excellent on this holster. As it came it was a very tight fit for a Glock that it was designed for. Soaking some paper towels with hot water and stuffing the holster with them got them to loosen up and snugly fit the pistol. I wrapped the pistol and several layers of Saran wrap while doing this to help it expand the holster just a little bit more. After doing this and working the pistol in and out a few times it has very strong retention yet allows the pistol to be drawn easily. I would unreservedly recommend this to anybody that wants a leather holster. I had been looking for something and Kydex but nothing that I could afford sat as close to my body as this does. It's a very comfortable and low profile holster which I expect to give me at least 10 years service based on my last leather holster that was not of quite this quality. The price is very competitive for the quality even at retail.
