LotusGrill Smokeless Charcoal Barbecue – with Turbo Fan for Quick Heating – Anthracite/Charcoal

This device is excellent. The design is well thought out, and it works! Very easy to operate and clean. You can probably only cater for 4-5 people, but it really is excellent. The set up is easy, and the fan is spectacularly effective. The food doesn't get seared/burnt like normal barbecues where it is directly exposed to charcoal, but it does brown.The biggest surprise to me was the small amount of charcoal used. When filling the container I was certain there wouldn't be enough, but each time we have removed the cooked meat, there has still been plenty of charcoal burning.The instructions say you need to use liquid gel to light the charcoal, but I have crumbled a normal firefighter onto the platform and it has worked very well. I have never used a portable barbecue in my life, but this would be very easy to take on outings.

Easy to setup, reaches cooking temperature really quick.Not smokeless though. When fat drops in the coal case, it gets as smoky as other grills.All round, a nice little grill.

We got this BBQ on a recommendation of a friend and it hasn't disappointed. Easy to use, quick, easy to clean and a handy storage/carry case. Highly recommend.

The key problem on this BBQ isnt that it says its smokeless when it isnt, its that fact that the enclosed metal cage that holds the charcoal oxides and disintergrates after 5 uses. This renders the BBQ useless.

I was so pleased with my Lotus Grill which I bought 2 years ago from Amazon. I have recommended it to so many people because it was so quick to light, was so easy to clean and was especially useful for the caravan. Having used it successfully about a dozen times, if that, we were just about to light it last weekend and the switch fell into the base and the motor burnt out. I have treated this bbq with real care and cannot understand why this should happen. I don't know whether to contact Lotus in Germany at the address on the back of the instruction manual. There doesn't seem to be an email address. Why has this happened to my Grill and noone elses? I am so disappointed and I would not order another.

The heat up time is fast- 4 min. However our fan broke after a year and now we can't use it. The fan repair kit is out of stock indefinitely. Apparently the fan often goes often so clearly a design fault. The oils from food collect in the bowl and catch fire , this is quite scary. Wish I hadn't bought one

excellent BBQ no time wasted waiting for it to heat up, it takes minutes

I bought this as I was frustrated with the English weather and the fact that you need 3-4 hours to have a proper BBQ lighting coal waiting etc. This is the best thing I ve ever bought. I am not sure I will use it indoors as the house will smell (from food not coal)and I do not its safe to have it under the hood. BBQ cooking temperature 5' after you strike the match. Food on the table after 10-15'. I have used it for 10 days straight since buying and cooked everything meat, fish, seafood as well as veggies. It doesn't do well with really thick meat stakes. A 5 kg coal back will last about 15-20 times. For a family of 4 you need to load it twice with coal.
