Star Wars Ultimate FX Lightsaber - Luke Skywalker

My husband is a true star wars aficionado. I'm more of a casual fan. Our 4 year old son and 5 year old daughter have not fallen far from the tree. They know most of the characters in the Star Wars series and the basic plot lines. I'm going to go ahead and give ourselves a well-deserved "geek check". Not surprisingly, my son really, really wanted a light saberThis light saber is awesome. I wanted to give him something that is an exciting toy and this is it. I knew that he would love the sound effects caused by moving it and hitting (gentle, pretend hits) with it. It is for sure a favorite with all of his four year old friends too. My daughter loves it. And guess who else plays with it as much as my son: his dad. My husband is so in love with the toy that he's getting one for his birthday after several, not-so-subtle, hints that TWO light sabers are better than one!We don't let my son play with it constantly nor roughly so I don't know how truly durable it is. The first light saber that arrived had a dent in the plastic tubing that was distracting so I sent it back for a refund and bought another. We haven't had any problems with it and both dad and son play with it, albeit somewhat gently. We'll see how the electronics and plastic tubing hold up. But the light that it emits looks really, really cool, very true to how they look in the Star Wars movies.(By the way, the price on these Luke Skywalker ones fluctates frequently. The first light saber was $25. The second was $30. I just bought one for my son's best friend's bday and they were $40 and overnight dropped to $29. I would check prices daily to buy it on a good deal. The Anakin version is always around $50. The Darth Vader, which I bought my husband, was $28 before Christmas but is now $50.)

I bought this fx lightsaber and the darth vader saber as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old son. They are good toys. Very durable. They have been dropped a few times and still work fine. Worth picking up if on sale.

They say this is the Ultimate FX Lightsaber, however, do not be fooled by this. This item is a kids' toy! It's plastic and garbage. It's not the 'Master Replica' (meaning it's not aluminum), it's just plastic. If that's what you're looking for, then I'm sure you can find it way cheaper than $80.

Item arrived very promptly, but I was disappointed in the toy lightsaber's condition. It arrived with 3-4 scratches on it that are evident when the toy is illuminated. The item was sent to me either lightly used (contrary to the item's description) or it was roughly handled or possibly played with while it was still in the box. I think it's fair to expect very good or mint condition for the $15 premium I paid for this over the original MSRP. Didn't get that this time. I'm sure my son will still enjoy it, quality control issues notwithstanding.

The look and functionality of this sabre is great. All the kids who play with it enjoy it. For the price, though, it's not very durable. It's easily dented and is already rattling loose pieces of who knows what inside the sabre. There's no way any kid can use this without doing some sort of dueling, especially since the sounds are designed to make impact sounds upon impact. A stronger more durable version of this is in order.

My son is a huge Star Wars fan and he had to have these new light sabers. I bought them at another store (just like some other items on my list) and then found them here for an awesome price! I reordered them on here and took the others back. You WILL NOT find a better price...in my opinion...then right here on Amazon.com! These light sabers are much cooler than any of the others before them. They look at lot more like the "real thing". If your son or daughter is a Star Wars fan then you can not go wrong with this toy! I had recently purchased one of these(Luke's)for myself. And a Anakin FX lightsaber for my son. We have a great time running around crazy in the house with these. Especially at night! They are much better than the lightsabers I wanted back in the 80's.The sounds and lights are awesome! Overall the sounds is pretty responsive to the motion of the saber. If you swing it hard, or lightly hit something (another saber,ect..) it will flicker and make the sound of sabers clashing. They have switches for on/off and like a sample mode. The sabers take a few AA batteries.My son afterwards decided he wanted the green Luke lightsaber really bad too. So I bought him one for Christmas. And a Darth Vader one for myself, this Christmas. They are worth the $39.99 in my opinion. However, if you look around at the right times. You can find them for about $29.99. I bought two out of the 4 for the $29.99 price.

My 5 and 8 yr old grandsons are still playing w/this a yr later. Has great sound effect and the light is still working...great toy!
