Q: Is there special care for a fiberglass paddle? Would it chip fairly easily?

I have not used this paddle any different than my other ones or used any special care. It is super lightweight but seems very durable. I've had no issues.

Q: Can I put slide on paddle grips on this Paddle? I don’t like the Velcro ones.

Ok, here's what we just did to get them on. One side goes on easy, the side with the clip does not. My wife removed a few stitches from the black edge part of the grip. We We were then able to work it over the clip after soaking it in water. She will now stitch up that section that we opened. These grips now fit very tightly, I wouldn't want to put on a larger size, a Velcro wrap or even wear gloves. This worked for us and has eliminated the beginnings of blisters after paddling without grips.

Q: White water kayaking suitable? Class 4+?

I only use mine in calmer water.
