Coromega Omega-3 Fish Oil: Omega-3 without the fish oil burps!
Some years ago my optometrist advised that I take fish oil capsules on a daily basis to help ward off macular degeneration. For those who don't know, this is a condition that occurs when the macula (the area at the back of the retina that produces the sharpest vision) weakens over time. There are many other benefits to fish oil, including being useful in the treatment of a number of forms of depression, and many physicians recommend it for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. But the problem for many is that they find the capsules to be intolerable for one reason: fish oil burps. The Coromega Omega-3 Fish Oil, Lemon Lime seems to eliminate that problem for many of us. It's packaged in convenient daily dose pudding-like squeeze packets. I personally like the taste, but if one doesn't, they can easily be added to yogurt or mixed with blended drinks. These Coromega products contain top quality fish oil from deep, cold-water fish, which is said to be the best kind.It should also be noted that low levels of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) have been connected to various forms of depression, ADD (attention deficit disorder) and Alzheimer's disease. Various studies have revealed that brains of Alzheimer's patients have 30 percent less DHA than brains of comparably aged people who do not have the disease.Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common cause of blindness among older adults in the US, and is said to affect over 7 million individuals older than 40 years. The frequency of AMD is likely to increase as the population ages. There is currently no known way to prevent the condition, but research has begun to identify potentially modifiable risk factors and nutrient-based treatments. More info on this can be found here:▪ Archives of Ophthalmology, Vol. 124 No. 7, July 2006 (see comments)In any case, if your optometrist or health care practitioner has suggested fish oil as a treatment, this product is a tasty alternative to the capsules. It can also be found in other flavors, such as Coromega Omega-3 Supplement, Orange Flavor, Squeeze Packets, 90-Count Box, which are excellent, or the Coromega Omega-3 Supplement, Orange Flavor with a Hint of Chocolate, 90 packets, which I have yet to try.If you wish to read up a bit on the benefits of the fish oil supplements, you can try DHA: The Essential Omega-3 Fatty Acid by Remi Cooper, who explains it clearly in a 32-page booklet. There are "good" and "bad" fats, and Omega-3 fatty acids are considered one of the "good" fats important for cellular, heart and metabolic health, along with being good for the eyes. DHA is one of those fatty acids that help maintain a healthy heart and circulatory system, along with maintaining triglyceride levels already within a normal range. This is an excellent product, but it's not advisable to decide to take dietary supplements to treat a health condition that you have diagnosed yourself, so be sure to consult your health care provider before beginning a new supplement routine.[UPDATE: 1/23/2014]Have been buying these Coromega Omega-3 Fish Oil squeeze packets here on Amazon and locally for years, and sometimes alternating them with the orange flavor, which are both favorites. For many of us there are healthy and tasty alternatives to the fish oil capsules... without the fish oil burps.7/31/2008; Updated 1/23/2014

Natural and convenient with included vitamin D
These convenient packets are easy to bring with you. Plus, you don't have to measure anything or deal with capsules getting lodged in your throat. Having to measure the oil with a spoon or a syringe would make it less likely for me to take it, and less convenient for travel. These airtight packets also make the oil less likely to oxidize, So you do not have to keep a bottle of liquid in the fridge and hurried to use it before it goes bad. The taste and texture are also good. I used to never take fish oil and I do not like swallowing capsules. With these convenient packets, I get no fish burps, Oil does not try to stick to the packet, The packets are easy to open, the taste is good, and it already comes with a fat source from egg yolk, so I don't have to take it with food. Another great thing is that it already has vitamin D, so this product is really worth my money because I don't have to pay extra for a vitamin D supplement. I also like that the fish oil is in its natural triglyceride form. I tried the orange as a prime sample, and then I decided to subscribe and save to the extra strength version in the coconut. I like both flavors. I can definitely tell that it is working because my hair and nails are growing faster, but I have not been taking it long enough to see other benefits like reducedu inflammation. I'm sure those will come though. I would really recommend that you buy this product over traditional ones. It would also be great if they came out with and unflavored version for dogs because measuring my dog's fish oil is very annoying.

Convenient and versatile way to get Omega 3, with the basic medicine like orange taste
I sampled this Omega 3 squeeze packets just for the sample credit and the fun of trying new things. In the sample pack you get 8 squeeze packets in a sealed pouch.I don't mind taking pills and usually I'm not a fan of supplements chews or gummy bears or drink mixes. This is not a product for me, but definitely it's not a bad product; also, without changing anything else in my diet or supplements, I did noticed my skin being more hydrated the week after I tool these supplements. The squeeze packets are really easy to open, convenient on the go. The versatility of adding this to smoothies, drinks or even overnight oats (why not?) is an advantage for this product. The fact that Stevia is used as sweetener and no starches are added also makes it a good product from my point of view. The orange flavor is not that bad, I wouldn't say it's delicious. I tastes just like any other artificial flavored orange vitamin drink mix or effervescent pill or soda. I just squeezed the packets in my mouth, I didn't feel the need to dilute it with water.Although the orange flavor remains as an aftertaste for quite some time, I didn't get the burps and bad taste of fish oil specific to other Omega 3 supplements.
