Spigen Neo Hybrid Samsung Galaxy Alpha Case - Silver

Never thought I would be writing a review about a phone case... bur WOW! This thing is amazing! (same exact words as a couple of other reviews), but its definitely appropriate.If you have a Galaxy Alpha, the phone looks amazing on its own and you hat to cover it up with something!! Well this is DEFINITELY the case for you. I got the Satin Silver (color is the surround band only) version, so that it would look identical to how the phone looks without a case on it.Nice black TPU designed surround, with good texture. Definitely agree that it could be a little bit more grippy, but not so much so that it impairs getting into/out of your pocket.Very nice surrounding band/frame. Love the fact that they made the buttons with actual metal.Place it on the phone. Slide the band on (top first) from BEHIND the phone (so you don't mess up the bottom of the band).Wham, bam, boom and your case is on.For those of you that 1-handed text on your phone while its sitting on your desk... the phone no longer rocks around while tilted on the camera bump! (a big thumbs up for me!).There was one comment that you have to remove the case to charge the phone... NO YOU DONT! You need to use the right charging cable that came with the phone! I went from another Galaxy device to this Galaxy Alpha and both charging cables work and fit like a dream. I grabbed a couple of generic ones from my kids rooms (because they always lose theirs... haven't figured out how yet...), but none of them fit, because they were bigger around or more square... but the Samsung ones work like a dream! Need another Samsung shaped Micro-USB cable (excellent quality and seems to be a heavier cable) then get this:- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DVBB0XQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I have 4 of those cables and this Anker 25W USB brick charging my Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 8 and a couple of Bluetooth headsets. Works like a dream.Update: Mar 24, 2015 >> I first ordered this product Oct 21, 2014, so basically 5mo down the road. This case has totally saved me from several drops. One of the drops I think is what lead to a crack in the band that surrounds the black TPU. The band developed a crack on the top side of the hole where the power plugs in on the bottom edge. I tried to take the case off, so I could put a drop of CA (super glue) in the crack, because I REALLY LIKE THIS CASE. Anyway, when I took it off, the split cracked into 2 small pieces and its impossible to glue back together straight. Not sure what I am going to do now for a case. Will update this review if I decide to order it again.Update: Mar 24, 2015 PM>> Well, after stopping by a few box retailers and laying hands on several cases... I decided to go back with another one of these, and simply chalk it up to the fact that one of my drops may have done the first on in. Its a great case and best of all, protects the camera lens on the back. Will continue to update over time as I go through case #2.

Great case for the alpha! Maintains the styling that sets this phone apart from the rest while offering a great deal of protection. Very comfortable to hold. I get a ton of compliments on the appearance on my phone with this case on it. (It helps that the alpha has yet to become a popular device for whatever reason in my area, so it isn't familiar looking to many people) My ONLY complaint about this case is that the opening in the bottom for the charger is too small. The Samsung branded chargers as well as a couple of smaller misc. chargers I've found will fit but most generic charger cables will not fit through the opening forcing you, in a bind -say, borrowing someone elses' charger, to remove your case.Take a look at the size difference between the Samsung charger cable that came with your phone and the other chargers you use (car, work, etc) before you purchase so that you know what you can expect. If they are bigger around the connector than your Samsung charger, you will need to either replace them with smaller alternatives or remove your case before use.Don't let this stop you! I just replaced all my chargers with Samsung branded chargers (maybe overkill, but I wanted to be sure they'd fit) and not only do all my chargers now fit, I'm using better quality chargers than the generics I had and I see significantly faster charge times now. The difference is night and day and I'd never have done it without the necessity created by this case.

This is an excellent case/product but there is one MAJOR flaw that you need to know about before you purchase it. Your micro USB will not fit. I have had to use a knife and shave down the outer plastic shell of every USB cord that I have in order for it to go into the phone through the case. I am a very innovative person and so this wasn't too bothersome for me since it was a quick fix and aside from that I LOVE everything about the case. It's sleek, high in quality, and it makes pressing the buttons even easier than without it on. I haven't had any issues with fitting aux cables through the auxiliary port. If I didn't have to fabricate my USB cords, this would've been an easy 5 stars.

Love this. Protects the phone without sacrificing the slim good looks you bought the Galaxy Alpha for. It has already saved my metal phone chassis from dents. I somehow collected one without even dropping the phone in the 2 days I owned the phone before this case arrived.I like that the protruding camera lens/bezel is now flush with the back of the case. Arguably, this case improves the phone styling.The hole which allows access to the micro-USB is as large as it could be and accommodates the original slim micro-USB connector on the cable supplied with the Galaxy Alpha by Samsung. Other cheap and generic micro-USB connectors will be too large to pass through the hole and cannnot mate with the phone. So, if you charge your phone elsewhere you'll need to find some nice slim micro-USB cables too. That is just a fact of geometry and is not the case's fault. The designers did the best they could while maintaining the case's strength.

I really really like this case, and I think it's great for the price.The things I like:-it doesn't add any bulk to the phone. Very slim and compact. Fits like a glove.-the design in general. The metal lip around the edges looks great and the buttons don't stick at all.The reason for -1 star: It doesn't seem terribly rugged. This probably is not as protective as an otterbox, basically, but I wouldn't get an otterbox anyway, because they're so ridiculously large.As other reviewers have stated, the original phone charger fits in the slot but not other chargers.

I love the sleekness and the feel of this case. It's very sturdy and well made for the price.My only complaints are the cut out areas. The cut out for the charger, is made specially to fit the official Samsung charging cable. I have a Blackberry charger that I used to use, and it will not fit into the case.Also, the cut out cable for the headphones, will not fit most cables that I have.

This case actually makes the phone look better. Nice grippy back. Great protection and fits so snug that you don't even know you have a case on. Unlike a lot of cases it is not the sort that will go out of shape after time and it is super easy to put on. The only negative I have is that you will only be able to get certain chargers to fit in with the case on. But the stock cable works perfect!

Easy to break when taking off of the phone regularly for cleaning

Great case fits the phone nice and snug. However my one issue is the charging port may fit just a bit too snug. I've had the case for about a month now and there is a crack in the top right corner of my charging port hole, below the home button. (On the plastic band surrounding the phone). This doesn't affect the structure of the case and its still held together as it should be. But it doesn't give me much hope for durability given the price of the case. Hence 3 stars excellent case but needs larger cut outs.UPDATE****************Got a replacement case sent out and hopefully this case will last much longer than initial purchase 5*

"Metalized" edges my @$$. It's cheap plastic that does not maintain the Alpha's look. The part near the power plug snapped after a month and the side buttons paint has worn off leaving an ugly black plastic behind. At this point, the phone was protecting the case more than the case was the phone. The buttons fall out from the case and the case is not easy on nor easy off. You practically have the break it to get the case on, and to get it off (the first time) I snapped the edge around the power button. The top prevents 6 of the 10 headphones and audio Jacks I use from accessing the port properly and had to buy an extension narrow enough (or just take the car off and break it).The only positive thing is the rubber backing is nice looking and easy to grip and doesn't get in the way of the camera or IR sensor. Not worth the money nor the car wreck I went through to pick it up. Don't buy, TRUST ME.
