RED HEART Reflective Yarn, Grey

I'm disappointed that this yarn seems to be discontinued. I've made hats, scarves and headbands with it. It is bulky yet soft and drapes well. It is not at all scratchy with the thin reflective thread woven into it. I highly recommend it for wearing at night for safety.

I bought this yarn as an experiment. The reflective yarn really does work. A scarf made of this yarn will definitely make you more visible on a dark night. (Please note that it is reflective, rather than "glow in the dark." It looks like regular yarn, with a thin reflective strand woven into it. ) I made each of my family members a long scarf with alternating rows of regular and reflective yarn........you can work out a pattern that suits you. One skein of yarn will make a narrow scarf or one with alternate regular yarn rows, or use two if you want a a wider or completely reflective scarf. And, it is just fun to have a reflective scarf.

Beautiful dark grey fiber with reflective filament. My daughter knitted me an ear warmer for the holidays - yarn doesn’t have much give so she knitted it a little larger. My co-workers thought it had been purchased from a store. Love the look, beautiful yarn & so warm & cozy. Perfect for spending time outside in the winter especially early on the morning or evening due to the reflective filament

I have always been a fan of anything with reflective accents and finding reflective laced yarn was such an exciting amazon moment LOL. I love everything about it except for the amount that we get for the price. I couldn't even make a full hat with it. The ball of yarn is very small which makes pricing my items tricky. Having to charge $40$-45 for a simple hat because I paid almost $20 for the yarn sucks..other that, the reflective effect is awesome. The yarn is very soft and stretchy. I purchased the neon yellow and grey..both are nice. The other available colors are on my list of things to buy. I recommend doing smaller projects to maximize with this ball of yarn. Head bands, trimming or baby items will go a longer way with this item vs trying to make a hat an scarfs set for an adult

I like this yarn , the weight , feel but especially the reflective thread .I use it for hats , ex benies many people including grandchildren are out before daylight . These hats , headbands provide both warmth and safety .

I love this reflective yarn. When light hits it, it lights up quite brightly. I used this to make a tire cover for my CRV and it is really neat and I get a lot of compliments on it. I think it would be great for hats for joggers to make them more visible. I did find the reflective material separated from the yarn a bit and could be a little frustrating to crochet with at times.

Good color, impressive reflective effect. Scores only three stars for these reasons: WAY too many knots, even some detached yarn segments in the skein; very costly, considering the yardage - could barely make a small beanie hat out of one skein. I will continue to buy this yarn, when it can be found for less than $5 a skein, but will use it as accent on pieces, rather than to construct the entire item from this yarn.

Love it ! This is really special yarn! When I opened the dark box it actually glowed with reflection! When I pulled the yarn out, it was its beautiful gray color!...with no "reflective" or shimmer to it. Astonished, I was looking for the "reflective" on the yarn that I could not see in day light...(I was expecting Shimmer Yarn!) I began putting it in the dark box again and the "reflective" starting reflecting like normal reflective material! The softness and texture is great! Add "reflective" in the yarn and I have a better than great night time wear!

I added this yarn to several toques and an earwarmer I knit for people this past Christmas. I took pictures of the items with the flash on, and the reflective bits lit up. Super great for a decorative edge, and I feel good about helping keep my family visible when they are outside in the dark. Will buy again!

Ich habe aus der Wolle eine Mütze gestrickt. Eigentlich ist die wolle sehr weich durch den reflektierenden Faden ist sie etwas kratzig. Sobald etwas Licht drauf fällt ist sie super zu erkennen

Loved this yarn, beautiful to crochet with. So far used it for children’s winter hats but plan to use for dog coats, good for visibility in the winter.
