Thoughts on increasing the plates 36" stance width to 48" or 60"?

Not sure why you want to spread your stance........... If you buy "The Ultimate Isometrics Manual" you will see a plethora of ways to enhance the Isochain regimen.

What exercises can be done on it

Leg & arm presses, squats, clean & jerks, curls, kickbacks.... From their excellent illustrated manual "The Ultimate Isometrics Manual:" "This chapter is a black belt level course on Isochain exercise. It is based around 38 of the most useful drills "[exercises/lifts] " anyone can perform using the device. But these 38 only represent the basics. Counting different positions, technical variations, and advanced techniques, over 70 drills are outlined in this chapter." p.s. And no benches, racks, plates, bars, or standing in lines waits (while teenagers chat each other up!) are ever again necessary. Five starts from me!!!

What type battery is used or is it rechargeable?

The standard size battery is AA. The battery inside of the isochain I purchased through the Amazon Store is a super alkaline midi max battery.

Great isometric tool

This thing is great but a bit on the expensive side. But I am glad I bought it.Can still train with a damaged arm and shoulder. For the price I would have liked to see a protective case for the bar though.All in all a good purchase for me. It is the bar with the different modes that makes it very usable
