Silk Blue, coral, and gold tricolor: gorgeous and unique
I was hesitant to buy this since the price tag was about 40% higher than most other tri color silk filaments from other brands. But Amolen is probably my new favorite brand for quality after having bought 4 rolls of different filament of theirs. I really love orange and blue complementary colors. Firstly you would be hard pressed to find a blue and orange filament. Secondly, it would probably look like a brownish/bronze color in blended areas. But this one uses a light teal and includes a coral to balance it out. I printed a print-in-place articulated sparrow. A complicated print. I needed to use glue stick for the tiny joints on the first layer but otherwise the filament adheres really well to a textured plate. I printed at 205/65 bed. I printed this slow at 60mm/s. Retraction at 2 @40mm/s. No supports aside from beak. The overhangs show ZERO blobbing or sagging. Considering the big overhangs under the wings, this is very very impressive. There was very minimum stringing, which might be resolved with higher retraction. This print is basically perfect. Maybe the most perfect print I've had.My only complaint. One side of this bird looks green (still better than a bronze/brown). I don't think this can be helped. The blue is more pronounced on the undersides. A lovely perwinkle blue silver. I don't know how to get the blue to be more visible and the green less visible but I'll tinker with it.I absolutely will be purchasing the teal and pink filament in the near future which also looks amazing. But this one really exceeded my expectations.

Great glow, but finicky and very abrasive. Perfect color for K-pop demon hunter weapons.
I've been using this filament to make K-pop demon hunter weapons for my kids. The glow is brilliant and the color of the blue-purple is the closest I've found for K-pop weapons. When the prints work, they are outstanding, but getting there needed a bunch of optimizations to fix clogging and stringing. I've run through about 2kg so far on my Elegoo Neptune Plus and get consistently great prints with no stringing or clogging problems by doing the following:1) 0.6mm tungsten carbide-tipped brass nozzle (hardened steel works, but more stringy)2) High temperature (220-225C)3) Keep the filament dry4) Slow and steady prints. 50mm/s speed max. Slow acceleration down significantly (I do <1000mm/s for everything).More details:The good: Incredible glow. Charging in the sun or with a 365nm flashlight for a few minutes results in at least half an hour of glow. The color is a purple-blue (looks more purple than the photo). After optimizing the print settings, I get consistently great prints. No difference between the two filament lots I purchased. The bad/difficult:1) Very abrasive: requires a hard nozzle and is damaging machine components. It tore through the first brass nozzle I tried with it. Both tungsten carbide and hardened steel work well. I found the steel made stringing issues worse, so I've continued with a 0.6mm tungsten-carbide-tipped brass nozzle. In the photo, you can see the filament tore through my filament sensor. I expect it is wearing the gears in my extruder, but after 2kg have not seen any noticeable decrease in extrusion quality yet.2) Clogs. Clogs were rampant on my 0.4mm nozzle - the filament was completely unusable because of clogs. Using a 0.6mm nozzle has basically fixed this problem. Higher temperatures (>220C) may have helped as well.3) Stringing. Fast printing = strings. Like, some of the stringiest filament I have come across. Slowing down prints to 50mm/s, acceleration to 1000mm/s and reducing the number of objects on the plate reduced stringing to a reasonable amount. Also, I notice that this filament is very susceptible to humidity. I live in a very humid place and notice significantly more strings after about a day of being out. Highly suggest keeping it in a dehydrator when not printing. I do not use a dehydrator/dry box while printing and can and get through 12-18 hours prints no problem.Overall, this filament is worth the hassle, slow printing, and price if you need this color and outstanding glow (which I do). If you are looking for a simple glow filament, I would try something else. The Overture EasyPLA glow is my go-to for simple glow-in-the-dark prints.

What a GLOW!
Before we get started let's just get my setup out of the way so you know where I'm coming from.Ender 3 (not pro)SKR Mini E3 v1.2Flexible Magnetic Build Plate (Creality Official)BMG Clone ExtruderCura Slicer with CHEP 4.7.X(Good) 0.2mm Profile.Alright so let's get into the meat of this review. When it comes to my printer I always wanted to try glow in the dark filament but was always worried that it wouldn't look good. Plain and simple, I'm glad I was wrong. Main thing to say is the glow works MUCH better when exposed to sunlight. I think it's the UV rays that is causing it to soak up so much energy so one day I want to try this with a black light.Temperature: I couldn't find a "best" temperature for it, everything from 180-210 or so seemed to look great which is a good thing. Means you don't have to worry about things looking weird and don't really just have to look for anything when it comes to the temperature. Just set it to 200c for the nozzle and 60c for the bed and you're good to go.Color: If you think you're getting a blue filament that glows blue don't. It's white under normal light but you get it in the dark and it glows a mighty blue. Just look at the pictures I posted. There are no filters. Just left them out in the sun for a few minutes, took them in a completely dark room, and took a picture. I really didn't expect the glow to be so bright honestly. It was a very pleasant surprise. I need to find some outdoor applications to use this in so that dusk looks even cooler outside my house. The white itself looks good and is even a little transparent. It could make a good surprise if you were to give a gift to someone who likes blue and they think you gave them a white item only for it to glow blue in the future.Adhesion: I'm starting to think the cheap filament I had before was what was causing them not to adhere to my bed but the 3 most recent filament's I have gotten have stuck well, though it may also be the new springs I got too. Layers stuck well to each other as well as to the bed. No layer shifting from anything and it didn't pop off mid print to ruin everything. No complaints when it comes to this category.Packaging: Came in a normal box with the flip open tab for easy storage as well as a sealed metallic zipper bag. Filled it with air and gave it a press to see if any air was leaking out and it wasn't so I went ahead and placed a few extra desiccant packs in there because I want to make sure this filament stays good till I use it all. I like the spindle itself. I don't know if AMOLEN's other filament's come on clear spindles as well or if this is it because the filament is a little translucent.Overall: I have 0 complaints and just can't stop raving about this. I'm hoping one day they have a glow in the dark purple and once they do I'm buying immediately. Next I hope I can get my hands on the shiny glow green (looks like it has chunks of EXTRA glowy pieces in it) and the color change ones one day. Cheers!
