How to install
The bulb works well. I have an "older" Maglite, one thatTo install, remove the metal seat for the bulb, it rotates out. You then put the bulb into the well, then gently screw it down.

Dramatic Brightness Improvement
I used these in an old 3 cell D battery flashlight. The increase in brightness is dramatic, but for the price you can buy a new light that is brighter or a new Mag Light for about 12-15$ more. Not really a great deal, but I don't like to waste things so I did the upgrade. Made my old light shine brighter than ever, but it is just an average brightness level compared to other LED lights out there. If you have old lights that you don't want to get rod of this is a good upgrade.

Great update
Have an older Maglite that originally had the Krypton bulb. Replaced it with this LED conversion. There is no noticeable change in brightness or the ability to focus.It's a keeper!

Bright, but NOT white!
I selected this particular product because the description said "white". Many/most of the LED replacements said "yellow" light. Well, this one is also yellow. That's the reason for the 3-stars - a little truth in description, please. Replacement was easy enough on my very old 3-D Mag-Lite: unscrew the lens bezel, remove the reflector, unscrew the bulb holder collar, replace bulb. Re-assembly is the reverse. If you have very large fingers, you may have a challenge reaching in to unscrew the bulb holder collar. While I have other much smaller LED flashlights that are arguably brighter, this brings back into play my old Mag-Lite, its heft and probably nearly "forever" battery life being 3 D cells and no worry about burning out a bulb filament.
