Best hiking boots ever!! Love them, will only wear these.
I absolutely love these boots, I can’t believe how awesome they are! The insoles are amazing. I bought these so that I could hike everyday at a local nature park, with rough natural trail, to lose weight, here in rainy Portland, Oregon where trails are wet most of the time. I have been hiking about 6 miles per day, nearly everyday, for past 4 months. That’s about 700 miles of rough, steep, wet trails that I’ve walked in these boots you see here. And they are as comfortable as the day I bought them! My feet simply don’t feel sore in them. I feel like I could hike 12 hours a day in these boots and my feet would still be fine. Through thick mud, deep puddles of clear water, slippery slopes, sharp rocks, these boots leave my feet dry and comfortable like I’m walking on air. Other hiking boots (that cost more money) make my feet feel sore after 1-2 hours. Not these boots, I love them. Initial laces broke, no biggie, buy replacements. I did have to put new sole inserts (Dr. Scholls?) into them after about 400 miles of hiking, no biggie. If you want good value, get these boots, hopefully in your right size.

Exactly as advertised
I looked at dozens of other shoes before choosing these because of the promise of the comfort and durability they provide. Believe me, these are even better than promised. The sole is so protective, all of the leather is thick and soft, the eyelets don’t hurt and the width is true. The price is not cheap but these shoes will easily last for years. I recommend this product

Best boot for me
These Hi Tec Altitude boots have been my go to for many years. I am very pleased that Hi Tec continues to produce this shoe. I can order them online with complete confidence that they will be a great fit. They are light, durable and comfortable. The sole has been one of the best parts year after year. It gives good traction and long life. I would know. I’ve worked in them for over twenty five years. I was a delivery driver. I was on my feet all day walking and walking. This boot was the only one that I could rely on to make it through the harsh, wet and brutally cold and snowy winters of west Michigan.I’ve retired now. I will be using my Hi Tec Altitudes for hiking and other outdoor activities. I know I can count on them for all the fun and adventure that my wife and I have planned in our new Arizona home. Thanks for continuing to produce this amazing boot.

So far so good!
Only worn them a few times. But here's my impressions so far.. Very happy with the looks and quality. Good insole, comfortable, seems well made. Not a big fan of the triangle lace loops. But can easily change that. So far I really like these! And I'm picky about footwear. For the price these are great! Wouldn't use them for hiking long miles. But daily wear or outdoor activities Absolutely! True test will be how they hold up over time...

Really great boots
These have to be some of the best boots I ever owned. They were comfortable right out of the box when I first put them on. I was afraid that winter-weight boot socks would have required me to buy a half-size larger but that turned out not to be the case, as they are roomy enough to accommodate a heavy sock. They are as comfortable as my old Lowa boots that cost 3 times more than these did. Finally, they are extra wide. It is really hard to get boots that are wide enough to be comfortable. All in all, they are great boots at a good price.

lower quality than earlier models
I bought the Hi Tec Altitude in size 10 Wide. The attached photos compare this shoe to a Hi Tec Altitude Size 10 that I bought in 2010, 13 years ago. My 2010 hi tec altitudes lasted a long time through mountain hikes and everyday use during snowy winters. after 13 years of use, the heel came off, so i bought this new pair. The new hi tec altitudes are a completely different shoe compared to the 2010 version. The 2010 version was almost entirely leather. that is the reason it held up so well over all the years. the new hi tec altitudes are only partly leather, and the leather doesn't seem as high quality as the earlier model. also, the black rubber tread on the old high tec altitudes is much thicker as you can see from the photo. the tread on the new high tecs are only about 1/4 inch as compared to more than 1/2 on the old ones. Both new and old high tecs are equally comfortable. However, i don't think the new high tecs will last very long compared to the old ones. I wish they would continue to make the old model.

Great toe box!
I've been searching for hiking boots as good as my Vasque Sundowners from the 1980s & 90s and I think these are it. My foot is very narrow at the heel but the lateral spread of my toes is quite wide. The toe box in these boots are roomy and wide enough to accommodate them. I now know why the previous 5 pairs of boots haven't worked for me. They all had a stylised tapering of the boot from the arch to the toe end making my toes really angry after a short walk. But these boots do not taper (as much) to the gently rounded toe. Thank you, HiTec!

Comfortable!!
My husband loves his new boots for yard work, hunting, hiking, etc! I think I’m going to get him another spare pair! He lives the tread too!

Comfy, more than expected
Very impressed with these boots. First of all they are categorized as water proof. When I got them, the tags and info from the manufacturer doesn't reflect this. I have a 11 wide foot, mostly in the toe area and I found these to be very roomy and lots of space for a heavy or wooly sock. I spray coated the leather for water proofing a couple of times prior to using them. So far I've woren them consistently as a hiking/hunting boot. And as well as a snow boot for everyday use. They are light weight and warm in -10c. I've been in ankle deep mud and walked through a few equally deep streams and so far they have held up to be water proof. It's been 4 weeks of solid wearing and they still look fairly new besides the stress seen on the leather as its broken in. I am a fairly heavy person and unlike any other boots I've woren, I can walk in these a good solid half a day before stopping to rest my legs. Very comfortable.

5 star hiking boots
Love them, best fitting boots/shoes I've had thank you. It's so hard finding size 15 extra wide. I will be a repeat customer when I need some new ones and maybe even before. Truly for all the people with huge feet my feet thank you.

They fit as they should
The Xtra wide is Xtra wide ! I have an xtra wide foot and many manufacturers will say xtra wide when there not even wide just stretch. These boots fit like they should out of the box. Well worth the dollars!

I have only worn these boots or sandals in the past 2 years.
I wear these for work or leisure, hiking or shopping. I have no reoccurrence of plantar fasciitis since wearing these and I spend 8 hours on my feet standing from 5-7 days a week. My feet do not get exhausted as quickly as they do with less supportive footwear. Completely waterproof as well. I have nothing to say that is negative about these. Will continue to buy new ones as the old ones wear out.
