Awesome Microphone for Voice Over Work
I must have done 40 hours of research before purchasing this mic. As a radio producer, I must be looking for ways to get great quality but within a modest budget, and this microphone does the trick. It is crisp, clear, and has a great sound to it. One of the VO talents we use has a higher pitched voice and this microphone brought out more of the bass in his voice, which makes his voice sound very good!Do yourself a favor and buy a metal stand, like the On Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand. I think to keep the price down, Rode includes a very basic stand, but it really is not the right stand for this top-heavy microphone.Keep in mind, this being a condenser microphone, it will pick up EVERYTHING in the room including the sound of the room itself. Make sure no fans, A/C, humming or background noise of any kind is present, or the mic will pick it up. I would recommend using a carpeted room with lots of soft sound absorbent material in the room to absorb reverb. All in all, I'm very happy with this mic, so much that I've bought multiple ones and send them out to voice talent. It's super easy to use, being plug in play. You don't need any extra sound gear, so it's perfect for anyone. Thanks Rode for making great quality gear at a modest price!

Honestly impressed by the hardware at this price
Does exactly what you'd expect a good mic to do. It's made even better by being USB, the USB connection means you don't need any additional hardware to achieve high quality audio recordings even without being in a sound booth.Likes:- Low price in relation to other mics at this performance level- Plug and Play for Windows 7/8, iOS, Android- In-line monitor headphone jack- Monitor balance (mic/device mix)- Monitor volume- Built-in vibration/shock mount- Desk Tri-pod (non adjustable legs/feet) stand included- Pop filter/screen includedDislikes- Included zippered sleeve style case (would have liked a soft/cloth wrapped hard-shell clip-closure or zippered case for the mic at least)- That I only needed 1 of them for nowGeneral CommentsThere are a few professional/high-end recording artists and/or sound engineers (neither of which would apply to me) who have created independent video reviews showing the mic in use vs. the competition (some of those mics are 3 or 4 times the price of the NT-USB), and the overwhelming feedback has been that this mic is worth the price! I'd seriously suggest hitting your favorite video site and doing a search for review videos showing this mic in action, as like with any mic, there are technical recording aspects (high/low, ambient/pickup, etc...), that if they are important to you, the pro's highlight and discuss in more detail than I could do here.In general though, if you're using a basic mic and considering taking your recording to the next level, or want a high quality/inexpensive replacement (or additional) mic that can be taken with you, this might be the mic you want to seriously consider.

Outstanding, solid build, sounds fantastic + good customer service
I use this for live streaming and Discord calls and the audio quality is outstanding.I was using the Blue Yeti before which had good quality BUT quickly developed an issue where there was a high pitch whine whenever I spoke. I've owned this RODE mic for a few months and there is zero whine. I'll update my review if any problems show up with the RODE.The mic is pretty heavy. Maybe very slightly smaller and lighter than the YETI. The built in pop filter is nice since it's takes up so little space compared to a third party one.My biggest con is I wish one of the knobs adjusted the pickup sensitivity. The mic is sensitive which I deal with by using a gate on my voice, which works great. The extra knob would just be a small convenience. All in all, this is a great microphone for streaming, podcasting, or general chatting online. I haven't tested it for singing yet.Highly recommend.EDIT: The piece that connects the microphone to my mic stand broke after a year, however getting a replacement was very easy. I sent them an email with a picture of the broken piece and they sent a replacement which arrived about a week later. Was all in all very easy to deal with, however I did register the mic's warranty online so make sure you do that when you get this. Good company!
