It fulfilled its purpose admirably.

When I first used the new remote, it was disappointing because some of the buttons didn't seem to work. After repeated pressing, they came to life. I had read that users of Humax remotes experience problems due to deteriorating of the key contacts over time. As these replacement remotes have probably been sitting in a store for as many years, I assumed that it was the same problem.Eventually, I discovered that my original problem was not the remote, but the PVR itself. I emailed Humax but their reply said that there were no software updates since 2007. Fortunately, I was able to return it to Amazon for a refund.Although humans cannot see the IR signal, a useful hint on the Internet said that you can check if a remote is sending a signal, by pointing it at a camcorder. This works a treat, and showed that every button on the original remote was sending a signal, confirming that my difficulties were entirely due to the PVR itself.

Didn't realise our old bitten (dog) remote was so bad until we got this one and only need a light touch to change channels first time. Thought it was a bit pricey but after using it, changed my mind. Works well and very quick delivery. Would recommend.

Good solid remote, my moms remote broke after she kept dropping on the floor from her chair onto wooden flooring so really was a necessity to get a replacement, similar price direct from Humax but Amazon has quicker and free deliver option. As most remotes go totally overpriced. But happy customer my mom is back up and running again

I bought this remote to replace the one that came with my Humax 9300T which was second hand. The old remote failed gradually, the buttons needing ever-more force to operate. This remote is identical to the original but worked perfectly right away. The buttons feel much 'crisper' in use and need only light pressure. Time will tell if it goes the same way as the first but for now I am happy that I've got my PVR working again and I'd say the small additional cost of the genuine article was money well spent. This was sold to me by 'buyme' and it arrived within 36 hours of my order.Update July 2016 - the replacement remote is still working perfectly. I wonder of anyone still has their Humax 9300?

The great thing is that it was an original remote control and not a copy. As, the copies or universal remote controls are missing the bottom section which, happens to have a slider - revealing extra buttons e.g. the 'G' button for games secretly stored in this PVR.It is worth obtaining the original remote in order to get total functionality.Plus, the product itself was fairly inexpensive and the order was processed and delivered to my house in a few days. Very happy with the product and delivery turnaround.
