Gaiam Yoga Block - Supportive Latex-Free EVA Foam Soft Non-Slip Surface for Yoga, Pilates, Meditation

This is a standard yoga block. I'm not exactly sure what to say other than it does a good job of being a yoga block. It is very block-like and equally yoga-like. If you are looking for a yoga block, this one will certainly do the job.

I ordered this block online on Amazon because I already have a Gaiam block in the gray color that I've bought together with a strap a couple of months ago and I wanted to get another block so I could have two blocks for my yoga practice. I bought the Storm Gray block and once it arrived in my house I realized that this block looks like it's fake, it's not original. My original Gaiam block has the logo on one side of the block, the block that I just purchased here has the logo on both sides and the logo looks different than the original. The color is also different than the original one that I have from Gaiam. The corners of the block seem to be cut unevenly as well. I will return this block if I can.

I got this block because I wanted a firmer block than the one I picked up at a discount store. Well, this block had dents on it as soon as I pressed it with my fingers. Its not sturdy at all and the material doesn't feel high quality. Furthermore, it smelled of plastic / chemicals as soon as I opened it. Unfortunately, I waited until after the return window had closed to check on this item. I wish Amazon would do something about fake products.

We cut ours in half to use for hip alignment when they are misaligned, which we were taught how to do it by our PT.They can also be used when cut in half, to sleep on them with one under each hip, BUT you need to make sure to angle them correctly to match your misalignment.I WOULD purchase this again.

Gaiam does it again! They create such good products; I have two mats from Gaiam, and when I started incorporating blocks into my practice at the studio, I looked for blocks that I could use at home as well. I shopped around (as most people do), and still decided to go with these because of their excellent design and build. They're the right size for anyone to use, they're very sturdy, and the green color is joyful to me. I highly suggest, if you're looking to start a yoga practice, or your needs have changed, that you get the blocks by Gaiam. I shop around, but I always come back to them because they make the best stuff, and these blocks are no exception.

These are much lighter than the blocks I am used to using at my gym and yoga classes. I would return them if I could but I have already tried them. I generally use yoga blocks for extra support but these don't feel supportive at all. They all somehow seem smaller than the block I am used to.

I’m still in the beginning stages of learning yoga and needed a block for some of the poses. I’m 230 pounds and this block has no problem handling my weight. I had one block purchased over 10 years ago and just recently purchased another one and they look exactly the same, so the quality is still there. I have arthritis and I sit on one of these during some of the poses to elevate my knees some and it’s helps a lot.

I have several of these Gaiam blocks and I love them. I like the black one, the color helps me focus easier. The blocks are fantastic for aiding you in yoga practice, and you can put your weight on it no problem. It gives just a little and that's why I prefer it to the harder wood-type blocks, and it is a nice feeling against the skin. I also use the blocks to do a lot of abdominal work by putting the block in between my feet and raising it and lowering it and moving it to the sides.So here's some great uses in summary:1. Use it to help open and release the back for light gentle back bends.2. Use it to sit on and meditate with half or full lotus legs.3. Use it to do abdominal work by putting block in between feet and lower and raising several times.4. Use it to assist in yoga poses as needed.I hope this helps. Do your yoga and stay fit! And get two of these blocks. You'll need both!

Purchased these to practice some arm strengthening poses, only received and tried them out today and am so pleased I added them to my kit, found them ideal for what I bought them for, they can be used horizontally, vertically or flat. I also tried them in a couple of poses I didn't feel properly aligned in (but had persisted with anyway!) i.e. half moon balance and reverse triangle which has resulted in a much better posture being attained and maintained without worrying about over-extending and risking injury, Im pretty confident that with continued use and by sensibly working through the 3 heights they can be used in I will maximise my confidence and ability to execute the moves with proper form. If I'd had the sense to invest in blocks earlier in my practice I'm now thinking I probably would have progressed a lot quicker and more effectively and would strongly recommend them to anybody wishing to practice yoga with patience and mindfulness rather than just diving in as I have a tendency to do and did!!! I think I have made a wise investment.

I love yoga blocks. As a yoga teacher, they can be a great tool in helping people to experience deeper postures and more "correct" positioning. (An example would be in a runner's lunge--some people simply have short arms. Blocks under the hands can decrease crunching of the chest and give a better stretch to the legs.)The blocks in particular are so sweet looking--and just as sturdy as any other Gaiam block. Love them!

I bought this for wor lass and she loves it.The only downside is that she keeps showing me her yoga moves in the house (when the footy is on).It is just a foam block, but it seems like a quality product and the prints add some elegance to it.The tapered edges are a nice touch too... not sure if there is a functional reason for them?
