Very good headphones... but...
These are a "monitor" headphone.... for a very decent price. For a Chinese headphone, they are very good. The build quality is very good... but even better is the comfort level (these headphones are super comfortable). These are NOT a warm sounding headphone. Rather, the sound can be described as possessing:-Strong highs, can be seen as slightly bright-OK mids-Precise and controlled bass, not boomy-Neutral, somewhat clinical-Excellent imaging-Good separation-Good stage for closed cans-Scalable with chain, and to some point, can have its tone a bit altered with proper chain-Decently mod-ableThey offer an excellent price for headphones under $90. The only downside is there really is no protective carrying case. They come in a very sturdy black box (but it is not conducive for travel).Once again, these are "monitor" headphones and not meant for the casual consumer. If you're used to darker or warmer headphones, these are probably not for you. If you want boomy bass, this is probably not for you either (they do have the ports to increase the sound of the bass, but I find it tends to distort the rest of the sound). These headphones do have a some bass, but it is strictly controlled. If you are looking for a good (and inexpensive) headphone for editing video... these just might be perfect for you.

More low-end than the HM5, comfort may vary depending on head shape/size, good buy
EDIT: 7/31/19 - I really love these headphones. I think my initial review sounded kind of emotionless. I have gotten used the way these sound and no longer enjoy listening to my K712s as I have come to prefer the more forward sound of these headphones. They really do sound very, very good for $80. Build quality hasn't been an issue for me. I've dropped this, yanked the cable out plenty of times, and there doesn't appear to even be a scratch on them. Wholeheartedly recommend if you want a very good all-rounder pair of over-ear closed back headphones.I've had these for less than a week, so take my review as you will. Background equipment I've had are HD518s, AKG K712s, HM5/XPT100, Grado SR125, dozens of IEMs, JBL LSR305, all through my O2/ODAC.I previously had a pair of NVX XPT100s (HM5 clone) and the plastic retaining mechanism for the driver broke and neither NVX or Brainwavz could supply replacement parts. I loved those headphones and abused the heck out of them for nearly three years, wearing them while working out, doing yardwork, accidentally yanking the cable, etc. The comfort was phenomenal with the angled pads. However, when buying new cans I didn't want them to break like that again (they were literally held in place with superglue for a month before they became unusable) so I took a bet on these. No regrets so far, though the experience is different.Sound vs the XPT100s: This is using the default setting for the bass switch on the drivers of the Takstar. The other settings make it sound muddy and unpleasant. The XPTs had a very "relaxed" sound signature with a very wide soundstage (for closed-backs) and very little low-end. Playing video games with them sometimes meant I couldn't hear footsteps and explosions didn't make me need a change of underwear. The Takstar has much more low-end and also sound much more forward, so for playing games, I prefer it. For most of the music I listen to (oldies music like Billy Joel, Queen, Sinatra, etc) the XPT100 had a signature that I preferred more. The Takstar have a very nice low-end. Not excessive ala M50X, not nonexistent ala AD700X, just a nice emphasis on the low-end without being too hot or cold. The midrange definitely has some noticable dip in the lower end of the midrange making certain male vocals sound a bit suppressed. The highs get really high, to the point where cymbals and such can sound fatiguing after awhile. Overall I like them a lot, but I wouldn't replace them with my AKG K712s for music listening. For isolation I would say that these isolate about as well as the XPT100. However, unlike the rather gigantic XPT100, these can be worn in public without people staring at you.For comfort I would say I prefer my old XPT100s, but I have gigantic ears and a rather small head. My ears barely touch padding on the drivers on the Takstar while they're in a cozy cocoon in the XPT100 with the angled pads. The Takstars are lighter and have a better headband. The Takstars also make my ears sweat after a couple hours of wearing them while the NVX only did if I exercised or went out on a warm day with them.Surely I'm missing something, but you can ask questions and I'll try to reply to the best of my ability.

Don't believe the naysayer's!
I purchased these headphones in March of 2018 and can tell you without a doubt that they are the best $80 I have ever spent on headphones. Look, if you are an audiophile you are probably like me and have headphones that range from sub $100 to $2k sets. Will these headphones match up with my Sennheiser 800s, or STAX SR-Lambda SR-507 Pro or Beats Pro? Nope! but... if you are looking for a daily driver that will give you great sound reproduction (after break in) and not require you to carry a DAC, these are the headphones for you. They sit here at my desk and unless I am doing precision audio work, they are on my head as I watch a movie or listen to some music. Do the retention clips on the headstrap suck? yes, do the earcups flop over when I put them down? absolutely! But, in this crappy wrapping you will find a fantastic set of earphones that will make you wonder why you didn't buy a set sooner. Just to clarify, these are not bass cans, nor are they precision headphones but they are exceptionally good for 90% of the movies and music you will listen to. After break in you can expect the sound to warm up and the base to get crisper. The best thing about these headsets is this... you pay so little and get so much so when you break or lose them it won't make you mad or break your heart because you will be able to replace them and not break the bank. My 5 star review is based on the audio of the headset, not the headband, the headband can be replaced with something better but when you have crappy sound, there is nothing you can do to fix it. So anyone that is going to complain about headstraps or the loose swivel on the earcups is missing the point because once you get them on your head the cups stay in place and the sweet sound production is in full effect. One last thing, these are not meant for jogging or highly active activity, they will not stay on your head in that kind of environment. If you are walking or sitting these are the headphones for you. If you want to know more, look up Z reviews, it was his review that convinced me to give these headsets a shot and I am glad I did.
