Get em if you tend to damage your shins
I had some scabs on my shins from bad form, and they just kept re-opening during deadlifts and other exercises. I've had these for about a month now and used them quite a bit, and they are holding up well. More importantly, no more bleeding and my legs are healing up.2 I ordered the larger size as my calves were slightly over the number they mentioned in the sizing information, and the fit is good. I haven't noticed any scuffs or wear yet to the neoprene material, so I'm optimistic that they hold up well over time.I personally won't be using them for rope climbs or box jumps, but instead a hard plastic soccer shin guard. If you put a lot of pressure on your shin during rope climbs, I'm sure you will still get bruised underneath them. If you hit the edge of a box during a box jump, I'm sure you will still indent and get hurt.UPDATE - After 2 months of use they still work great. I don't see any wear and tear on them, so I believe they should work for years to come. My shins haven't had any scrapes since getting them, I'm very happy with the results!

Mostly good, but not perfect
PROS: these provide protection for shins, as they’re supposed to. I wear them for OCR training, and they’ve been helpful in protecting my legs for rope climbs and traverses, wall climbs, and misc obstacle work. They fit snugly and stay up well without constricting, and they’re relatively easy to get on/off. The fronts (cushioned side) appear to be wearing well and standing up to wear and tear.CONS: the back side of these, that sits against the calf, is made of a tight-weave mesh, possibly to help with air flow and keeping your legs cools. While that is advantageous in many ways - unfortunately, that side isn’t as durable as the front, and I have a few small holes in them now from descending from rope climbs where the rope brushes against them, or maybe from snagging on walls during climbs, etc. They are a bit warm for my taste, but I suppose that is a sacrifice one makes to protect your legs from injury. The worst - and to me, least forgivable - feature of these is that the zipper at the ankle is not in any way cushioned or given a flap of fabric to keep it from rubbing against the skin. During long workouts, esp trail runs and moving between obstacles - the zipper has rubbed my skin raw and even caused bleeding. One could solve this by wearing a long sock underneath, but that makes the overheating worse. I feel like the zipper design could be better, for the price.I think the pros outweigh the cons, but they are kind of expensive to have these flaws, in my opinion.

Does the job: spares the shins
On deadlifts day, I got by for a long time by just wearing longer socks and pulling them up when it came time to lift. Some days, no problem. Others, scrapes. Annoying plus started wondering about getting an infection. So, went looking for something and discovered that something for shins actually existed. I have a couple of sets of Rocktape knee supports, so gave these a shot. Easy enough to put on, lift, then take off when done with the sets. No more bleeding shins. What's not to like?

Works well, wears tight
I am 6'3" with long legs. I have 17.5" calves (cold/not pumped) and these feel very tight. I didn't have any blood flow issues to my feet (no tingling), but I do wish they were just a tad larger. I cannot close the zipper around my ankles all the way. This is not a huge deal though. The length is perfect from the top of my shoe to the bottom of my knee. The silicon band on the inside does a great job of keeping the sleeve in place during deadlifts. The feet stirrups are probably not needed, but they are unobtrusive. The padding on the front is great to prevent scrapes and bruises on my shins. The back is very breathable, but I do notice some wetness under the neoprene which is to be expected. My pair did not have all the newspaper style graphics, just the red and white logo which was a relief. The zippered back can be worn on the inside or outside (I prefer outside) so these are left and right sided even though the logo on both is on the same side. Overall, I am very happy with these but, again, wish they were a tad larger in diameter. Only time will tell if they will stretch out some.

Deadlifts, rope climbs, light padding is great
I have used these for deadlifts, rope climbs, and as general light padding during lunges, and I like them very much! They area great for deadlifts and have saved my shins! During rope climbs they have definitely helped me to work on technique and improve form without the pain of my skin scraping off. The only thing I would note is they were not as tight/small as I thought, as I measured my calf and ordered a medium. The back of the shinguard is a very stretchy mesh, so I think I could have gotten away with a small and maybe had a tighter fit. However, the stretchiness of the mesh on the back allowed me to pull them up over my knees for impromptu knee pads during a longer lunge workout, so it doesn't bother me that much. I was shocked at how sweaty they got, but i just hang them outside of my bag on my walk home from the gym and they dry pretty fast. Overall, great so far!

Are they robust? Useless zips...
A little snug (despite me using size chart) and I worry that the backing won't be robust in the long run, it's a kind of mesh which I didn't realise before buying, feels a bit delicate when I'm pulling them on. I thought it would be neoprene all the way around. Time will tell if they're robust. Zips at the bottom are completely pointless, they don't stay zipped, needed so that you can get the sleeves over your heel but then it just stays split so should have either had velcro or a stretchy material to squeeze through. If they last I'll try and remember to come back and update.

Great but be careful of sizing
Love the quality of the product but if you have 16 inch calves like myself then they are a tight squeeze to put on (I bought the large size). The band at the top does not stretch that much and was a real struggle to pull over my calves. I worry that I will break the band each time I put them on. If you have calves 17 inches or more then I would avoid buying them as they would definitely not fit. Annoying how their websites states a large is 15 inches and above. What it should say is 15-16 inches

Large not big enough
I didn't think I had particularly large legs, but the size Large I ordered isn't big enough for me. They seem well made and would do the job well, but if you have a slightly larger leg, these may not fit

Worth the investment!
Pros:Fit well,Don't slide down during long sweaty sessions,Neoprene is very useful and prevents skin from being torn when weightliftingCons:Not sure what the point of the zip is as it doesn't make much difference if it's zipped or notI'm quite weary of the elastic band that goes around the base of the foot...
