1 of the most frequent causes of guitar damage is inappropriate humidification. Either too high or too low humidity can reduce a $6,000 dollar high end guitar to a $6 dollar pile of firewood, faster than anything (with the possible exception of leaving it in the locked trunk of your car during 100 degree days - but thats just dumb). Somehow these things just plain work. I keep small humidity monitors in my expensive guitar cases and these packets keep it dead on 49% humidity. And they work longer than 3 months too - usually around 6 months. They are more convenient (and more accurate) than sponge style. And they are less costly than the other brand that starts with a D.

These cost too much in my opinion. Been using Boveda for decades as they traditionally just serviced cigar humidors ... now they're into weed and guitars. Pretty cool evolution. They work great. Should cost a bit less. Get some! Your luthier will smile.

As always Boveda has the best quality products and it was shipped very quickly with everything that was supposed to be in the package. This product is a 90 day fix it and forget it problem solver that allows you to keep optimum humidity for your large wood stringed instruments storage case regardless of the humidity levels outside your instrument case without dealing with trying to remember to re-wet messy sponges and allows you to avoid possible water damage to your instrument. It allows you to easily avoid fret sprout from shrinking necks or tuning issues from warped necks and so many other unpleasant, costly and likely damages to your instruments that assuming you are not a luthier can not fix effectively yourself, or perhaps you are a luthier, but would prefer to not allow the possibility of damage to your beloved instruments reguardless of the fact that you can fix it yourself. Then this product is for you! A elegant solution to an age old problem. I buy a new starter set to put in the case of every new guitar that I buy because it is so dry here pretty much round. Bought to transport a bass and acoustic guitar to and from a mission trip: driving about 12 hours each way. Guitars either in trunk of car or covered truck bed. No issues upon arrival.

I use these with my mandolin and they work perfectly. I place one under the headstock and keep one on the top between the bridge and tail piece. The packs last about four months (here in North Central Texas) year round, but I usually change them per the manufacturer's recommendation. They offer great protection for a modest price. I enjoy the hassle-free approach - no water or sponges to care for!

Best, easiest to use, almost idiot proof. I put them in my hard case. Couple this with an environment alarm and enjoy stress free guitar storage.
