It fit perfectly, and the 196cc generator started easily. The nylon cord should last longer than the rope cord it came with. I had this generator (bought new) for about13 yrs.

Not close to being as advertised
I would’ve given this five stars but the fact that it said it was a universal fit and that included my size generator. If they would’ve given me the shims, I needed to mount this thing so it would work. It would’ve been no problem, but I had to dig out washers to space it otherwise it was too tight to the body and would not retract one picture is of the old unit and the installed one you can see the washers you can see how the original unit had a raised area where the screws mounted to the generator body. This universal fit is a flat mounting surface. That’s why you need the shims.
