Quiet, tactile switch, with moderate bump.
I like tactile switches. I also wake up 90 minutes before my partner and type while drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee and they are a light sleeper. So, I wanted a tactile switch that is relatively quiet. These are on my short list of favorite "silent" tactile switches (along with Kailh Deep Sea Whale and Gamakay Pegasus). They are quiet, with a modest tactile bump. The ones I have aren't scratchy, and have relatively low amounts of stem wobble. I'm using these without lubing them and out of the box, I think they are fine. They are not the quietest of the silent switches but the noise profile is inoffensive. If you don't like your tactility right at the top, there is enough pre-travel on these to satisfy. The Good:- Quiet, but not too quiet.- Much less scratchiness than other "brown" switches.- Consistent feeling tactile bump. The Bad:- Could be quieter. The Meh:- Moderate tactility. The bump feels like a new Cherry brown without the scratchiness.

Loving it
My new go to switches. Feels great, sounds perfect, and best of all its the best of all worlds.

Shhhhhh!
These are the quietest tactile switches I've tested, with a substantial tactile feel. Out of the box, they are solid, with a prominent tactile break that slightly precedes activation, and a medium-soft bottom stop. There is virtually no stem wobble whatsoever, which surprised me for a 3-pin swappable switch. At 45g they are considerably lighter touch than Gateron Baby Kangaroos, but IMHO have more noticeable tactile action. I noticed some inconsistency - scratchiness in a few of the switches. I'll probably pull them to lube all the stems with Krytox 205 eventually. I installed these in a new, unused PCB, and experienced 4 pins bent on insertion. One of the pins "accordioned", destroying the pin - and thus the switch. So I installed a spare Gateron with stiffer legs in the socket first, then its Kailh replacement went into the socket fine. It may have been my own fault not being careful enough - but it's the first time I've had 4 bent pins on one new keyboard build. Overall, I find the Kailh Silent Whale switches satisfactory - and exceptionally quiet. For the cost of these switches, I'm a little disappointed with the inconsistencies and pin fragility. But if the quietest possible tactile switch is what you need - these are the ticket.

Excellent silent tactile switch
The switches comes in the typical ballistic pack of 36 switches. It has a factory seal and appeared to be well protected. The switch is one of the several attempts from Kalih at creating a silent switch. This appears to be a premium class silent switch, and mine is the tactile variety in addition to a linear. The weighting of 45gf past the initial hump of 60gf makes it similar to the red switches in weighting in the linear part. A silicone pad at the bottom of the stem is what dampens the bottoming out noise as well as two pads to each side to dampen rebound.Likes:-- Very little if any stem wobble. It is actually quite impressive how tight the stem is. It seems that Kalih is trying to refresh their reputation from earlier days of their wobbly stems. This one is quite good.-- Prelubed and very smooth. Not all pre-lubed switches guarantee smoothness. This is one of the better ones.-- The LED lighting guide post is a great Kalih design touch that works very well with SMC LEDs. It is just a step beyond and above the convex lens design on the Gateron Pros, and can channel the light quite nicely.-- The tactile is very interesting. It is not the tactile that you find in browns. It almost actuates the initial bump immediately, as it sits very high up at the key travel. It also sustains fairly long, and consistent, that you have to get about 1mm travel before you get over the entire length of the "hump" and reach a linear response hitting the bottom the rest of the way. It is weirdly satisfying, while being very smooth and consistent at the same time. It also is very effective at preventing accidental presses or feel any mush at all. The whole travel is very tight and controlled, without any feeling of looseness or noise. I think it's pretty fantastic tactile feel that I didn't imagine possible. Even as a tactile switch alone this feel is pretty remarkable.-- Yet this is a silent switch. I have the early silent pinks from Kalih, and it was criticized for having a very mushy bottoming out feel. While that seems like nitpicking for a silent switch, that has in fact been much improved on this switch. I find while the bottoming out feel isn't as crisp as a normal thoccy switch (of course), the bottom out feel while silent, didn't feel nearly as mushy. I suppose they must have more carefully adjusted the material if not thickness of the bottom padding to enable a more stable and direct bottom out feel? I am not sure. Yet I find it much improved in the bottom out feel where it's not so much of a noticeable characteristic, other than truly being very silent. The switches feel and look premium, with tight tolerances, low stem wobble, consistent tactile feel, and generally smooth. Nice Kalih touches like light guide post and boxed contacts only adds to its value. Kudos to Kalih for making these interesting switches with ever better quality control. If you are interested in tactile experience for typing, and also can rather do without the thoccy or clacky noise, this does both tactile and silent like a champ. It is eager to please and delivers exceptionally on its promises.

Pretty good
These switches feel pretty good, better than I was expecting. They are quiet and crisp, seem to have no wobble on the stem and made typing on my keyboard a much better experience.I also didn't receive any switches with broken pins which I usually find when I buy a whole box. I only found one switch with one bent pin, I bent it back to its usual position and it still worked perfectly afterwards. Other switches I've bought a large box of had come with switches with very bent pins or switches that just didn't work at all and I had to replace. The only downside to these switches is how overly expensive they are. If I received any broken switches or a lot of bent pins at this price I would have returned it right away but luckily they were all ok.
