Good general purpose walking boot
Now on my third pair in about 12 years. I wear these all winter and spring and autumn, twice a day for dog walking. Well insulated, feet soon become cosy even on coldest of days. Good level of grip in the mud. During the winter months I can go weeks without them ever drying out or being cleaned from walk to walk or being polished. And they stand up to this treatment. All of them have eventually started to leak but that's after 4 years of abuse and hardly any maintenance - that equates to about 6 miles a day 365 days a year - I take February 29th off. The fit is as the size so if you want to wear a very thick sock you may need to go up a size or half a size from your standard size. Unbeatable for the price and comfort.

Eurotrek Lite WP
Caveat emptor. While the quality etc. of the boot I received is not in question, it was, in fact, a Eurotrek Lite WP boot - a different 'model', lighter in weight than the Eurotrek III and more suited to summer hikes than colder wetter seasons. It is quite similar in appearance I have returned it to the seller, through the very good Amazon returns arrangements with the Post Office. While this is an easy, consumer-friendly process, I still have to drive 3 miles to the relevant shop, having re-packaged the item. I do wish this did not happen.

Thes boots were made for walking.
Very quick delivery (next day). The fit was as expected with a thin under sock and a thicker woollen outer pair, which has always worked well for me. The soles feel quite stiff with these and the toe caps are almost like steel. Ordered some walking gel pads as well. Retiring my old Eurtreks which are starting to leak at the bridge of the toes where the fabric has split ( despite the constant use of dubbin) and the sole has started to come away from the right hand boot, though in fairness they have done a lot of mileage. So preparing the new boots I always do the following: I wear them for a couple of hours a day in the house for at least three weeks BEFORE I attempt to walk anywhere far outside in them. After all they are brand spanking new and clean as a whistle. This allows the boot to shape itself around my feet as it gradually breaks up the initial resistance to movement in the stiffness in the leather so it doesn't start to rub blisters into the skin, particularly around the ankle. After they become comfortable to wear I then give them a couple of coats of dubbin which I let soak into the boot for a good few weeks (putting them somewhere warm helps) and then a final spray with water proofer. I was shown this years ago and it doesn't half help make your first outing in your boots more of a pleasure than a trial. Hope this helps somebody else.

UK size 9 fit
Delivered in 48hrs and now on my feet to get used to that new boot feeling and mould to my own personal shape. Great!I took a chance on these Eurotrek 3 size 9's as my old brown Altitude 4 size 9's were quite literally, falling apart at the seem. After 4 years of absolutely no attention other than mud removal, I decided I had to replace them. They still didn't leak (as long as I didn't wear them in rain or wet grass).First off, I got the old boots for dog walking, driving my van/picking up around the place and didn't want toe caps. For £20 at the local cheap supermarket, I couldn't complain even if they lasted only months. I wouldn't/didn't go out my way to purchase Hi-Tec. It just fell into place. Sure I've had Hi-Tec trainers in the past but not leather waterproof boots.I'm a size 9/9.5 all the way up to size 11's in all my footwear?! Go figure.. So back to the new boots. I wanted BLACK and the majority are brown for some reason. I could have got the same old brown version for £50 but threw caution to the wind. The fit is more or less the same as before. I'll have to break them in. As I remember, wearing them around the house for a couple of weeks the leather eventually started to soften. If in doubt, try a similar brand shoe in a local shop for fit and size since I would rarely try on a 9.I sent my thank you email via Amazon to the seller as the goods were typically in perfect condition, parcel intact etc and got a reply from the director of Foot Box/Wellington Warehouse later that day thanking me for letting them know. There's a site I'll be "favouriting'' for future buys. Thanks and here's to my new black booties!

Reasonably good performance
I have used these Hi-Tec Men's Eurotrek III Waterproof High Rise Hiking Boots twice daily for most of the past 12 months. In this time I have not really looked after them; they are regularly put away wet and often don't have chance to dry in between walks. Cleaned them maybe twice and polished them once. The leather is now splitting and the sole is just starting to separate but there are still no leaks which is impressive (I regularly walk through long wet grass which is a good test) and still on original laces. I reckon they will last at least until late spring so 16 months of almost daily wear.Given they only cost £35 and are very lightweight and good fit I will buy again.
