Is this better than 'Resin W' which is the wood glue I have always used in the past?

Much better wood adhesive than Resin w and leaves no staining, simply sand off after dry (if nessasary) Hope this answers your question.

Is this glue suitable for MDF?

This is an excellent glue, but you could use a cheaper glue. MDF is not waterproof, which this glue is. Use Titebond 1.

Can i use it to stick a terracotta tile on to the wall?

No this isn't suitable, if you just have one or two tiles to stick on use a high grab adhesive. Otherwise use tile adhesive
