will this bag hold a 17" laptop? I'm confused by the fact it says 18" & 16" in the title, what's accurate?

I have a 13" laptop which is about as big as it will take.

What does the inside of the bag look like please

It’s just a plain canvas/ cotton style with a couple of zipped compartments, pen holders, more than enough room for laptop and lots of paperwork.

A few reviewers have mentioned high oil content and a bad smell. Is it that bad? The bag looks great but this is a concern

The smell itself is not too bad and will disappear after a few days anyway. Oil is more problematic - I'm using my bag over a year already and some items/ documents are still contaminated.

How long is the strap?

It’s adjustable and more than long enough to hang just above my hips (with kite adjustment both ways to spare) and im 5ft10
