My 2009 Volvo C70 convertible has the compass and dimmer in the rear view mirror but there were no ready made adapters for it online. I reached out to YQMAJIM customer service and heard back quickly. They recommended this universal adapter. I was able to locate the proper wires using the included volt meter and had it up and running soon after. This is way less expensive! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ! These work great to tap into power at rear view mirror.

I had to cut the shrink wrap to tap into the map light connector.The problem is the map light always has power and I haven't figured out how to solve the problem of dash cam being always on

Update 1/21/25:The DVM module will work all the way down to 3.8V, anything lower and the display becomes to dim to view.Original:The kit order was suppose to only have 2 x USB module, when the kit arrived the volt meter (DVM) module was also bundle with it. Quite a pleasant surprise.This kit will be eventually be placed in a Acura TLX, but before that, it was tested out in the lab first.The DVM is accuracy is OK, the PSU output was set to 12V while it measure the voltage at 12.1V. Simple division, that's about 8% deviation from the expected.With just the USB module connected, the current draw is 1mA. The DVM module draws 13mA. With most dash cam drawing in 300mA to 500mA, this is negligibleThe USB under no load condition outputs 5.14V, a little higher than the expected 5V, but still within the standard 10% toleration of most regulators.The USB module is active down to 9.4V, at which point the voltage drops to 4.99V. This is pretty good, but honestly, if the car battery is at 9.4V, the engine won't be cranking. The DVM was still working at this voltage, which would be a good indicator to see how badly discharge the battery is.

Kit failed a month after return window. Don’t waste your money on this, it is cheaply made and the prongs appear to have lost connection

Old dash cam used old mini-usb, and adapter I had ended up pushing fragile pins into back of mirror connector.These are cleaner, and terminate in USB-A port, so can plug whatever cable you want into it. They are larger, but also easier to mount.

I recently purchased a dashcam and I wanted to tap in to the power source coming from my rearview mirror. I tried several amazon retailers to purchase a power adapater but unfortunately due to my car is old model (2008) nobody makes a compatible adapater. My only option was a "universal adapater" which involves a) identifying yourself the positive and ground of your car wire and b) sticking the pin into the identified positive/negative. for the life of me i could not stick the pins in. i emailed the supplier and they offerd to make customize adapter for me if i am able to tell them the positive and negative terminal. i sent them the attached pic and they actually made it for me. i got it plugged it in and it is PERFECT and they sent it to me very fast..like within 10 days. For those that have same car as me (Gen 2 lexus IS250) , i have done the work ( see pic). you can purchase the universal and stick the pin in yourself or you can reach out to the supplier and discuss customize adapter.
