Total Disappointment!! MADE IN CHINA.
A total disappointment!! I've been wanting a pair of slip on boots, or Wellingtons, for a while now for the convenience and thought these looked pretty "rugged" for the terrain I work in. Its an outdoor construction job with a lot of mud and sand and wet areas with standing water. The toe cover that looks like a hard piece of plastic is made of a rubber bumper cover that tore and now has a gash in it by simply dropping something on it. I had them for 4 days at the time and now going on 2 weeks!! The customer service is non-existent! The leather is nice, and they fit okay, a little tight getting my foot in, (size 9D), but the toe cover is not really meant for "work" boots. I've been wearing Thorogood's for about 10 years now, the "made in the USA" brand is now gone because these are made in China. Its just disappointing. The "American Heritage" line if Thorogood's are made in the USA. If you do any kind of lifting or walking on rough, uneven terrain, these boots will hurt your feet. Listen, I'm just being honest. I am COMPLETELEY let down with these boots. I was very excited when I ordered them, after wearing them for 2 weeks, my feet hurt at the end of the day and I cant WAIT to get them off. My American Heritage 8" Moc toe were THE most comfortable boot EVER!! Felt like I was wearing a sneaker. However, I'll give credit where its due..... these boots are waterproof and I'll give them 1 star for that and they are made of nice leather and they get 1 star for that. Anything else.......Total Disappointment. If they weren't so expensive, I'd throw them away and buy another pair of a different brand of Wellington boot. Yeah....I think they're that bad.

Runs small
The good first. The leather and materials used on the exterior of the boot are great no issues. I have been wearing these boots for about 4 months now and see really no signs of wear. I work in a highly industrial environment and typically go through boots in six months. Machinery installation.Very high quality materials on the exterior. Now the bad. I have worn a size 12 D or regular width since I was 12 years old. Being a steel toed boot I thought for the first time maybe I should order a 12 wide. In my mid 40'S now and I think my feet are naturally Widing a bit. With that said, these boots at the toe line and underneath the cap are far too narrow. I think it has to do with the design, rather than overlay the rubber toe cap the designers chose to infuse it flush with the leather. This makes the situation where there is no room for stretching or expansion as you wear in the boots. In all honesty, I love the boots, I love the look, I love the exterior quality, but I dread putting them on every single morning and really can't rationalize spending another $150 on boots this soon. My toes are certainly paying the price for a bad design. Blisters and calluses like I have never had before in my life. I should have returned them on day one but you know how that goes once you wear a pair of boots and you're out of town There's no way to return them. I figured they would stretch a bit and fit beautifully but with regard to the toe area this is not the case. I am not looking for a pity party, just wanted to let folks know that if you're considering these boots they run narrow especially in the toe area.

I wear a 9.5 D. Got a 9.5 W and they fit as expected. I wear doubke socks
These are Awesome! I work out in the oilfields and it gets muddy and slippery. Walking up stairs and in oil was easy. I don't feel any slipping at all. Being that they were new I expected my feet too hurt until I broke them in like any other boot. I've had Redwings and a few Ariat. By far these out beat them. I would definitely buy another pair in the future.

tough and look pretty damn good (Update after 6 months in the Oilfield)
These boots are well made, tough and look pretty damn good! The only problem was that one boot fit about perfect and the other was a bit loose I guess. Not in the toe where you'd expect but at the joint where the foot meets the shin. It gives kind of a sloppy feel to the ankle support in that one boot! It's not bad just a bit off and the heavy socks I wear in the winter takes care of it pretty much. I might try a foot pad in that one for summer use. Other then that they are comfortable and seem well made.***Update*** After 6 month's running flat bed and now 6 month's working in frac for LOS. The oilfield is one of the roughest work environments there is on foot wear (and people!!) Most of my co-workers wear $250-$300 Ariat's that wear out in a year or more. These things have been in mud, water, ice, snow and chemicals from the Bakken to the DJ for 12-16 hours a day for 14 day hitches. The pictures speak for themselves. The first hitch and probably the second I'll admit I had blister's on my feet. But that is pretty typical I'm told. They are more comfortable then my shoes now. One review on here is critical of the toe cover. First of all, If you are worried about a scuff on them you are probably in the wrong line of work. Second, Yes they are made in China but so are the high end Red Wings. And these things are like tanks for your feet, why wouldn't you want them? The pictures are after a fresh clean and oiling. Take care of them and they will take care of you!

Redwing quality without the Redwing price
I've been a redwing boot user for the past 12years until I got fed up paying the ridiculous price. My last boots were the Carhartts which was ok but I felt could of been better. After a search I came across Thorogood and the reviews seemed promising so I ordered them. This is my 3rd day with them on and I must say the break in time for these boots are awesome! Usually it takes over a week to break in new boots.... These felt broken in by the third day! So far so good. Seems well built and the only downside I can see it that they are a little more heavier than my red Wings but definitely a small inconvenience! I will report back in a few months to see how they are holding up.

Almost perfect
The boots are tough to be able to survive me wearing them. The waterproofing lasted around eleven months last time I bought them. I bought a size 13 EE and it fit rather well, except that both pairs have small safety toes, almost like they use normal sized toes on them. Other than that issue they are the best boots for oversized feet that I can find. If only they had something bigger than EE, that would be great.

Good upper, poor soles.
These boots are very comfortable and really warm! The customer service I recieved from this company was great until the boot sole split and leaked water within 4 months of use. Then I kept getting passed off tothiscompany or that as no one wanted to exchange the product. When we got to the last in what seemed like a long line, I never ever got a response. So here I am with wet feet trying to get my money's worth anyway :(
