Pictures are of light that I retrofitted with this LED, just not yet remounted on the building. The dimmer of the two images is due to a filter, cutting the brightness.This light is MUCH BRIGHTER than the 300w sodium halide lamp it replaced.

I purchased these retro kits to replace the guts in 2 shoebox style parking lot fixtures. The fixtures originally had 400 watt metal halide bulbs that I switched out for corncob style bulbs previously. Big mistake for this type of fixture,but these kits seem to be the most efficient way to go. I can’t comment on longevity yet but they are far brighter than you will get with any other replacement while keeping the original fixture in place. You can’t look directly at the light when powered,you just can’t it’s that bright.

I rebuilt this Hubbell fixture , replacing a 400 watt metal halide bulb and ballast, using the 240 led assembly and a 60 watt led assembly.The light is whiter than the third picture would make you think. The second picture is from about 80 feet away. Eventually, the fixture will be about 6 feet higher , and a motion sensor will turn the 240 watt unit on and off. I am building two more fixtures, but they are going to be dual 240 watt units. I have several HID wall packs to retrofit, also.Overall, the kit is very good. It came with fasteners and wire nuts, and good instructions. the heat sink on the unit is huge. Be aware, these are fan cooled, so fan failure is a possibility. Since this should not be on and in full sunlight at the same time, I am not worried about overheating. It has already survived the worst part of our summer ( high 90 degrees for about 2 weeks ), so I am pleased with that.This particular unit was an Amazon Warehouse Deal, so I grabbed that when I saw it. The normal price is around $140 , and I think that is very competitive with other brands.Overall, I recommend this LED unit . It seems to be well made, and is very bright.August 7, 2022, still performing great, no issues at all. I have not had any need to take the fixture down since mounting it, so I have no idea if the cooling fan is functioning or not. Fixture is working fine in 90 degree F. overnight operation.

After replacing the Medal Halide lights in our gym at church with LEDs, we so happy with the results that we decided to do the parking lot as well. the worst part of the job was trying to get some of the old fixtures open. After that it was pretty easy to change out the old ballast and lamp with the new LEDs. I did not use the socket to mount the fixture (it seemed that the socket sagged too much), but drilled a hole in the fixture and used the a nut and bolt to mount the yolk. The lights all are working well and the white light gives ample illumination at night. I'd have given the fixture a five star rating if they would have provided hardware to mount it without the socket. I'd buy them again.
