the tinker is THE BEST pocket knife for everyday carry
In my opinion, the tinker is THE BEST pocket knife for everyday carry. Single blade fancy clip knives are useless when you have to fix something. Slim and light enough to not create a large bulge in your pocket, has the basics to quick-fix or open just about anything that doesn't require specific tools. Swiss quality (I hate knives made in China), yet if you lose it cheap to replace. Throw on yellow Gadsden scales and it makes a unique looking knife that is easy to find. I've received a lot of compliments on it.

Great knife
Love this knife. I have a few Victorinox knives. When I saw this one, I just had to have it. Great color and the Gadsden Flag is awesome. The tinker is one of the best. It's a good sturdy EDC knife in my opinion. Lots of functions.

Great pocket knife
It is a typical Victorinox knife, very handy and good quality. The yellow color really makes it stand out. Get a lot of complements.

Better than expected
I prefer carbon steel knives and considered this a trade off knife, inferior steel, but adequate multiple tools. Not so. The blades sharpen nicely and the tool steel is more than adequate. It looks (and is) inexpensive. But I carry and use it every day.

The essential Victorinox EDC compact tool
DON'T TREAD ON ME !!! DAMNED STRAIGHT !!! I am glad this version of the Victorinox Tinker is available. What a terrific price to boot! I believe the Tinker is the most essential of what I consider a compact pocket tool. It is the slimmest tool they make that has a true Phillips head screwdriver. I like that it has a toothpick and tweezers as well. This is in my EDC bagwhen it isn't in my pocket. I don't leave home without it. I have given a few of these to my best friends who do not carry a knife or EDC tool. Get one for you, your wife, your kids or your friends. They will love it and thank you years from now because of how much they use it. They will remember that you are the one who gave they the most practical tool they own. After 2 months I have replaced this great little knife with it's Big Brother the Deluxe Tinker. The addition of pliers and scissors meets all my requirements for EDC. My only wish is for a Gadsden version. Maybe I'll just switch the scales. Another great option with Victorinox knives.

Jack of all Trades, Master of none.
It's OK for what it is. I won't be shelving my Case knives or even Chinese made Old Timers for that matter anytime soon. The tinker seems decently built but does have flaws for day to day carry. Negatives include smooth slick scales, if they get wet or a bit of oil on it it's like an oiled bean squeezed between the fingers to be shot across the room. The blades are decent, the tools while they can preform tasks they don't do them very well. The screwdrivers are more for looks than actual use, they border on horrible for actually tightening or loosening screws, not ground properly, probably a good thing since the knife wouldn't hold up to much twisting torque. The awe/punch? Why anyone would slice a 3/16th hole in a piece or leather for stitching it is beyond me. The bottle opener works, the can opener works too but I prefer the other version that you pull around the can rather than push. I consider Swiss Army Knifes more Gadgets than Tools. If you're getting kid a scout knife get them one of the more traditional scout knifes with better scales for grip, those traditional scout knifes are built stronger. Where this shines? Given away to costumers with your calling card printed on them, if you want a novelty knife as I did with the Gadsden Flag for display or light use it will serve you well too. Not a bad knife but s I said I'm not planing to shelve my traditional Case Knifes carry this.

Really happy with this
Really happy with this.. like many of the other reviews I took off the ring as Im not carrying this with my keys attached to it. I think this is the perfect set of blades that I need while still being light and easily carried. Lastly the yellow with the 'don't tread on me' on it is about as perfect as something can get. Really impressed that victorinox put this symbolism on it!!!!

Handy and high quality.
s I would have liked, compared to the Winchester I lost, but the screwdrivers are excellent and the blades are REALLY sharp and are holding their edge really well; haven't had to hone it yet. The hidden slideout tweezers are a nice touch and come in handy.Love the yellow tea party logo!
