YaleSmart Keypad 2 - Fingerprint, Black, 05/303000/BL

Arrived next day on Prime. Drilled two holes. Install and set took me no more than six minutes. Really impressed how simple it was. I love the keypad and also the fact you can use your finger print. Enrolling a user on the device is very simple. You have the option of Keypad PIN and or Finger print. It opens instantly when entering PIN code or presenting finger print. This is so much easier than using the old key fobs. Very pleased.

Very disappointed, to the degree that I have removed this keypad and the yale lock I bought with it and replaced with another product. Despite my best efforts, the keypad and fingerprint reading were extremely unreliable. Even putting in the key code would inexplicably not open the door. Fingerprint hardly worked. I tried replacing the batteries and also resetting everything, this didn’t help. The Yale lock itself worked ok, but this keypad just didn’t work well for me. Luckily I gave household members the physical keys otherwise we would be locked out.

Took a bit of setting up and like the Linus 2 lock there’s a degree of ‘clunkiness’ in how the app works with the keypad. You can only have one owner your spouse will need to be a guest for example and you have to setup the fingerprint and keypad separately.Took a while to sync to the lock - around 5 mins after setup so you have to wait vs restart all over.Now it’s connected seems to work wellWaterproofing seems pretty basic (rubber seal at the back). Couldn’t find a waterproof rating (ip54 etc.) so I’d assume putting this where heavy rain could hit it, might be a problem

I have more than one smart lock in my home and have more than one of these keypads and they work great.

It works, but not always not very reliableWhat are the Customer service is dreadful? They’re so slow to respond and do not give you a resolution. This is not Amazon but Yale

The keypad looks nice and very easy to programme! But it’s very hit and miss, sometimes it works! Sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve tried resetting and reapplying finger prints and codes! But it only works when it wants to.

Had a bit of a rough start getting the Yale Smart Keypad 2 to pair — it just didn’t want to connect at first. After some trial and error, I ended up removing the batteries from my Yale L2 lock and suddenly the keypad paired right away with no issues. Not sure why that helped, but it worked.The doorbell function is a nice idea, and I have it linked to our Alexa devices, but there’s a noticeable delay. By the time the Alexa alert goes off, the person at the door is usually already walking away. So not super useful in that sense.That said, once it was paired, it’s been working well and feels reliable. Definitely a good addition to the setup overall, just be prepared for a bit of tinkering during installation.
