Don’t do it
Uses too little water. The prewash isn’t a prewash but extended wash. And needs to be used in all washes because it won’t wash as well because of the little water it uses. The fab softer container won’t hold the liquid if u put too mucj and it drains into the wash. The whites only function uses warm or cold water. Doesn’t use hot or very hot option. But u can use steam. Makes no sense. My 7 year old kenmore 5hs model or something like that was 100000x better.

A nice machine with some annoyances
Good machine, generally. I can say that because after 18 months (now 7 years as of mid-2023), mine hasn't required repairs, nor the matching dryer. It was a replacement for an inexpensive top-loader. I opted for the 6500-series for the aesthetics and because it was on sale; otherwise, save for a bit of extra space, I see no good reason to choose it over the 5200-series.It cleans as well as you want it to. With shorter cycles, some synthetic garments that retain smells aren't cleaned. A three-hour steam cycle cleaned a camping item that had been sprayed with cat urine impervious to a half-dozen other remedies. It's fairly well-balanced. Not exceptionally so; you can still get it to vibrate with an offset load, but it has a motion sensor to self-limit speeds. This can make getting the water out of something big and heavy, like a comforter, challenging. Oversized clothing loads have no such problem. Noise is audible and mostly inoffensive, though it probably would annoy a light sleeper.Like most front-loading machines, this Samsung retains water around the rubber seal. I've left the door askew on mine from day one. No smells or buildup. I suspect this would be less true if I closed the door, though I haven't had to sop water with a cloth or apply any other prophylactics. The little add-clothes drawer is mostly a nuisance. I once opened it frequently to air the machine out, but the plastic catch would periodically jam for no reason I could discern. The washer is vigilant about locking both doors. Chances are, if it'll let you open the small door, it'll let you open the big one too.Digital controls are a mixed bag. You get a nifty timer that's moderately accurate for an average-sized load. However, and this is inexplicable: there's no true custom setting. You can create a saved personal wash, but it has to be based on the presets, which arbitrarily lock things out. No hot water for this one, no fast spinning for that one, too short a wash time for another. It's maddening; just let me pick what I want! That aside, it's a capable, forgettable, stackable machine that's light on power and water. Hard to argue with that if it continues to hold up.

Doesn't Clean
I bought this from a local appliance store because parts for our Australian machine were not readily available. The Samsung was in stock, and they would do the swap-out that day. We have discovered that whoever designed this machine apparently forgot its basic purpose -- cleaning clothes. And yes, they absolutely knew that -- buried in the manual is this gem: "Do not wash laundry contaminated by oils, creams, or lotions". Hindsight says I we should have done the laundromat thing for the two weeks parts wait.

Will not last.
Save your money by something else, washer lasted 5 years drum frame fell apart you tube it, only Samsung trained technicians can work on them, price if repairs would be almost price of new one.

Buy something else
I bought a Samsung washer from Lowes 3 years ago. It died at 2 years, 9 months. For a $1200 washer, I found this disappointing. I purchased this new Samsung from Lowes 3 months ago to replace it. From the day we started using it, I noticed that it was 2 to 3 times as loud as the previous washing machine. The machine was so loud that we couldn't run it if anyone in the house was trying to sleep. Last week, the unit stopped transitioning from cycle to cycle properly. Left alone, it would continually switch back to rinse, and never complete the spin cycle. The Samsung repairman spent several hours (at a cost of $385 to me) and could not make it work. He offered to order $400 worth of parts and keep trying to get the machine to wash clothes. It appeared that all of the options on the table were longshots and the machine was simply irreparable. With tax, parts and installation, I paid over $1000 for this machine and got only 90 days of use. I realize that there are very few remaining washing machine manufacturers, but there has to be a better product than this available.

Bought washer & dryer Dec'17; there is standing water ...
Bought washer & dryer Dec'17; there is standing water in bleach & softner section after every use. We r not putting any bleach or softner but still there is water so it has nothing to do with detergent, never buy Samsung appliances. Customer support keeps on saying please use high efficiency detergent, what a bunch of idiots. At most buy a Samsung phone but never appliances.

Samsung: A Pox On You! A Pox On You!
One of the worst things I have ever owned. Everything about the machine is third rate except its looks. The extra rinse cycle doesn't work. The filter at the bottom is almost impossible to twist off, and when it does, good luck on getting it back in so it doesn't leak and cause a flood! Your clothes will be full of soap because it doesn't use enough rinse water. It was designed by sadists, and is revered by washer/drier repairmen who use these models to fund their mortgages. After this experience, I will NEVER EVER buy another Samsung product of any kind. Wretched company!!!!

Wish I seen this review before purchasing
Run.. I mean run! Samsung front load washer is a scam. I bought mine 3 months ago and it is already malfunctioning. It doesn’t clean our clothes, spins once or twice well the clothes flop over and it’s sits in little water before doing another flop. Not enough water to doesn’t rinse the detergent out of our clothes and the rash on our skin shows it. It malfunctions from cycle to cycle. This machine is horrible. I can’t believe Lowe’s /Home Depot sell this product!!!!
