Outdoor Research Men's Axiom Jacket

This has become my favorite all-around jacket. It has a nice athletic fit, while still allowing a few layers underneath for warmth. I'm a short guy and I have a hard time finding outdoor jackets that aren't massively baggy, even in the smallest size. So finding that this in size small fit me perfectly is awesome. I've taken it on long mountain day hikes and also snowboarding/skiing. The jacket is well-built and durable, while also being lightweight and packable. It even looks good to wear around the ski town. It keeps the wind and water out, yet breathes well without pit vents. However, I still would have liked to have pit vents; I just like having the option to use them if need be. Otherwise, it's an awesome all-around jacket that I highly recommend.

Well constructed and durable, yet light. Fit is "slim", that is: snug at the hips. Does move well at the shoulders without limiting motion. Wore this in a humid all-day, drenching rain in African mountains. Kept water out, but also kept humidity in. Same old story: If it's waterproof enough to keep the rain out, you get drenched from your own perspiration. Probably would have benefited from the pit vents that they did not provide (Probably to keep weight and bulk down; it does pack up into a pretty small pocket sack). Hood is quite functional, easy to adjust with good coverage and visibility, and stays up well over a hat (did not try with helmet).

Haven't tested it out in a down pour so can't say just yet. I am 5'10" 180lbs average build and would normally wear a medium, but based on reviews I ordered a large as I planned on layering up for hikes and winter and it's a good thing. Jacket fits small around waist and mid section. As for look and feel... Can't complain it's light and seems well made.

Great jacket, but does not breath as well has I hoped, needs pit zips for use in warmer weather. The Velcro on the cuffs is not fitted to close tight, I have large wrist and the Velcro doesn't wrap around enough to cinch the cuff tigh to prevent water leakage. But other than that it is a great jacket, the hood, sleeves, pockets, zippers etc. are good the fit is looser then some which is good, it allows more air to move though the jacket. For the price this is a very good waterproof jacket.

athletic slim fit, i have wide shoulders and smaller waister, trapezoid like. jacket fit perfectly to around chest. arms were a little long. it performs very well as a water proof jacket. i layer a OR softshell underneath to ski or play in the snow and it has perfect warmth.

One of the most comfortable jackets I own. Excellent arm movement thanks to the High arm pit cut. Goretex flex is awesome for us guys who aren't perfectly fit and like a little stretch fabric. Don't expect a lot of warmth but that's not what this shell is made for. Pair it with a down jacket and you will be unstoppable in the cold.

This is an absolutely incredible rain jacket. I've had a few others by reputable companies, but none of them have matched this quality. The material is great to touch. Really happy with this purchase. Can't wait to get on the trail.

Started loosing its waterproof ability after 10 washes. A wash vortex booster and spray on proofer restored it to like new. Fabric is great and still looks new after many wears. I even use it skiing
