Will this fit a Mazda CX-5?

I don't know about fitting a Mazda, but DON'T buy this item! We bought this to cover our new car last summer while it was being stored at a family members house. Within a month the cover had become so brittle that it was like tearing through a sheet of paper. We are from the Northwest and have very mild Summers and the thing couldn't handle the elements. Again, DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!

Is the measurement taken from a horizontal plane or from the front bumper, over the top of the vehicle and down over the trunk to the rear bumper?.

It will be bumper to bumper. Total length of your vehicle.

is this cover waterproof

Not waterproof. It's a single layer and intended for indoor use. I use it when storing my car during the winter.
