Are the snap hooks metal or plastic? Ad description and some reviews say metal, some reviews say plastic. Which is it? Also where made?

They are metal and very robust. Fantastic sling.

It does not look like this can convert to a 1 point configuration. Is that true?

I don't know if it is the intended design since they don't advertise it, but there are little holes in the side of the clasps that are the perfect size for the opposite clasp to fit in and lock into. I have used it that way as a one-point sling and it works pretty well for me. The clasps are all metal and seem strong enough to hold the gun individually. So, from my experience, yes. This can be a one-point. You also don't have that extra length of strap connecting the clasp to the main loop of the strap like you do on many dedicated one-point slings.

Will it fit a CZ scorpion evo3 S1 carbine?

Yes. The Scorpion Evo has very narrow sling connection points that slings with plastic connections will not fit into but this sling with its narrow metal connectors works well. That is what I bought the sling for. and it works fine.
