Kid loves it, but it stopped working after a couple of days
The media could not be loaded. My son is a big numberblocks fan, and when he saw this on my computer screen he really wanted it!Unfortunately, after playing with this for about a day and a half, it's no longer working-- I tried changing the batteries but the lights and sounds just aren't happening anymore. It might've happened when the 4 year old took the battery pack out, but still I don't think he was being much rougher than any other kid, so I'm not sure the quality is there for a kid's toy if it breaks so easily. For something that costs $30 at the time of review, I expected something more durable, so I don't think the value for money is very good.Initial impressions:We were confused at first because although it advertised 12 songs/quotes, it was only looping the same 3. I realized then that it was in "try me" mode, and if you open it up to the battery pack, you can switch it off of that to get the full set of quotes and songs.I like how the lights around his eyes light up in time to the music, sometimes one at a time while the voice is counting. Compared to some of the other numberblock toys, I don't think this one is the most educational, although it could teach counting to eight with some of the sounds. But I think it's more just for fun as something the kids can play around with or have in bed to cuddle with.My kids think this is super fun and cute! It's pretty large and soft, except for where the battery pack is. I like that the battery pack is accessible so you can replace them and make this toy last for a long time [assuming it doesn't break like ours]. It looks just like the octoblock character from the show with a nice bright magenta color, so your kids will have fun solving math problems and playing around with it.One confusing thing is that two of the arms (the middle ones) have velcro (one has the hooks, the other has loops), but they're not able to reach each other, and I can't figure out any use for this. It's a bit scratchy, so if it's not there for any purpose, I wish it weren't there at all.
