Great Design
This can be worn cross-body or as a belt. I tend to wear it as a belt, but it's comfortable either way. It's easy to draw your bear spray quickly and feels secure, which is great when hiking over rough terrain.

Must have for mountain hiking!
Easy to use and adjust. Love that you are able to carry bear spray and have it readily available, but have your hands free.

Secure and comfortable for trail running.
I trail run with this holster, and I love it. I purchased the Small/Medium. I have a 27-28” waist, but even at its largest extension my boyfriend can still wear it comfortably, so it has a pretty good size range for different people. It stays in place while running, doesn’t cause any discomfort, and the bear spray stays secure. I usually hate extra baggage bumping along the trail with me, but this is pretty easy to get used to.

Kind of good
Good and solid but we rarely use it. Just doesn't sit well with a backpack or fanny pack.Best use is fast hike/train running with little to no gear.

Great!
Love this! It’s so much easier to access compared to the one that attaches to a backpack or belt.

good option on bicycle
We found this to be a good option on bicycle. simple belt holsters don't work when you don's have a belt. Also some of the holsters would not hold spray bottle at high confidence level when your body is bent over a bike. If you have a 28 waist or larger I would get the large size though. You may want to sling this over your shoulder and carry the spray on your center chest and that works best with larger size. And the large/extral large fits fine on 28 while the small medium is pretty tight on 30/31 waist

Comfortable to wear
Fits my FRONTIERSMAN 9.2 oz container perfectly. Makes it easy to wear in running shorts without the need for a belt. Easy quick access to the deterrant.

Do NOT buy! Velcro stitching is horrible!
Just got this Counter Assault Trailrunner Holster delivered a few days ago in preparation of a 16 day, multi-state camping trip in bear country coming up in less than 2 weeks.I put on the holster around the front of my waist and adjusted it to fit snug & placed the bear spray can inside & secured the velcro strap.I read that it is important to practice removing the bear spray from the holster several times, so you're familiar with it and won't drop it if you ever need to pull it out in a real encounter situation.I pulled it out twice. Just twice! And I'm not a strong brute of a man. I'm a 50+ yr old woman with average stength. The loop velcro strip sewn onto the holster came unseen... two of the four sides of the velcro strip came undone! There was only 1 row of stitching. When I originally ordered the holster I wasn't able to order more than one because they only had one left in stock. I wanted one for my husband as well. I bought him a smaller Counter Assault belt loop holster. So, I guess we'll be testing his out for quality control next..Looks like I'll have to just repair this trail runner holster myself (adding 2 lines of stitching) because I won't have time to return this one & get another before we leave on our trip... and I suspect the replacement will be of the same quality. You'd think that on something as important as a bear can spray holster that you've spent over $25 on that the manufacturer would've done double stitch lines on the velcro.I was happy that I was buying a product made in the USA & from one of the states in bear country that we'll be camping in... Montana. However, I find this product's quality very lacking. I expected better, especially since my life may depend on it functioning properly in a bear encounter.

Love this
I can run with it. Also Love that it’s behind my back so I can bring my kids on hikes and not worry about them getting at it.

It works well!
Got this for an up coming ultra trail race ,bear spray is mandatory for this race .I've done a practice 12 km trail run with it.No issues ,I wear it to the front ...I don't even know it's these ...holds the smaller bear spray I think its 230 mm or 8.5 oz can .it's got enough stretch to hold a larger can, or water bottle for that matter .

Read the sizing info
I'm happy with the product. Just so you know I'm a 32" waist and in order to fit me well I do have to shorten the straps 100%. If you're a 31" or smaller this will not fit you.
