It really helps
We suspect we have a dead mouse or rat in the wall behind our wall oven. The smell is horrendous and is permeating out of the cabinets above and below the oven. We have gotten service quotes from handymen to remove the oven and open that wall and “look” for the source of the smell, quotes from $209 an hour to $1200 for one day job. Just to look! One handyman said he would pull out the oven and open the wall to help me locate the dead mouse, but I would have to call a pest control company to remove the animal before he could patch the wall and reinstall the oven. He said he doesn’t handle dead animal sanitation/removal. He estimated $1500-$2000, again if he found the animal! What if they can’t find it, I’m out all that money without guaranteeing the problem will be solved. So my pest control man gave me one of these Earth Care bags to hang in the cabinet above the oven. He said he swears by these bags for situations like mine, and the bags are safe around pets and kids. Within 24 hours of hanging the bag above the oven I noticed the smell had decreased. The smell was still present, but definitely not as bad. I ordered one more Earth care bag to put in the cabinet beneath the oven. And same thing after 24 hours I noticed a definite improvement. I am very sensitive to odors, so I can clearly still smell something when I walk in my kitchen, but it is no where close to the smell it originally was. So I would definitely recommend this product if you are desperate and the smell is beyond tolerable…this will make a difference. I would recommend buying two bags. If one works to eliminate the odor great, keep the other one for another day or another use. But if after 24 hours the smell only slightly improves try both bags.

Saved my sanity
These bags were recommended on a forum I came across. We had rats. Like really?! I tried to trap, then catch them. I knew the odor they would leave behind with poison. But I ended up having to bait my house and garage. I finally noticed no activity and knew they were all dead... In my walls and between my upper and lower floor. My lower level started slightly smelling...I seemed to be the only one that noticed. Then within two days, full on rotting corpse. I live in Florida so when I say the humidity made the sink worse, I mean it. I have a 1500 sqft lower level (that's what stunk so noticeably). I noticed it really smelled the worst along the back wall. So I hung two... One in the kitchen and one in the living room. It does specifically tell you they NEED to hang and you need to ventilate with a window open and circulate with a ceiling fan. I didn't have a lot of hope for it to work. But we were close to not living in the lower level until it decided to turn to dust! I hung it around 8pm. I turned off my scent diffusers (it will remove that smell too). By the next morning I noticed it was fast more bearable. Wasn't great. But you could deal. I opened the doors back up for the day. Within the next 15 hours the scent cleared out entirely. You can't "air out" dead rat smell. You can't cover it. You can't wait it out. Especially when you're pretty sure there's about 6-8 that are dead. But I'm telling you, these worked and worked quickly. I will be leaving them up for the next few months until I know that their tiny corpses have fully eradicated. Don't listen to the people that are all... Oh don't waste your money they don't work. I'll bet money they didn't hang them or take them out of the plastic bag they come in! Trust me when I say, people aren't the brightest.

Didn't work in RV
Had a dead mouse under sink in RV and I hung in kitchen area of my RV right close to source where it could get proper air flow for several days and then even tried placing it in cabinet under sink/in kitchen island for a week...and it just didn't work for me, at all. Made no difference in bad smell from decaying mouse.

Dead rodent smell in hallway.
Takes about a day to completely get rid of the smell. You just hang the bag where the smell is strongest at.

Worked okay, not a miracle.
I have a dead animal in my chimney that was smelling up most of the downstairs of my house during the summer months. I tried taking apart the fireplace to get to it, but couldn't pinpoint the exactly location and thought I would have to do some demolition to get at the smell. I bought this hoping it would vanquish the smell.I've had the bag in place for at least a month now. I don't know if the smell has decreased because of the cooler weather (I live in North Florida) or because of the bag. There were still times when I could detect a faint dead animal smell, but not as strong as before (again, I don't know if it was the bag or decomposition running its course). It was worth a shot and if it decreased the horrible smell even a little bit (which it seems like it did), it was worth it to me.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM!
We have used these bags 2 different times. Both times for dead animal smells. When it gets really cold mice find their way into the walls in our bathroom, etc. We have the separate area where you can close the door to the toilet. That is close quarters to be stuck with a dead animal smell. We initially called a plumber because we thought it was a stinky bathroom issue. The plumber knew right away what the smell was and recommened these bags. We had another dead mouse incident in the wall of our closet and used them again. A new roof put a stop to the mouse issues. These bags worked like a charm! I can't recommend this product enough.
