Amazing
Just got this yesterday, and I am amazed at how much computer there is for the price. It's a great value, and I am really happy with the purchase. If anything goes wrong I will update my review, but I am very pleased with what I have out of the box.

Great machine, but beware of reconditioned models
Three month update. So far the machine is still running great. If anybody sees issues, its most likely due to windows 10(yes it has issues), but overall hardware is running great. As to the battery problem I mentioned earlier, It has something to do with the battery monitor itself. Its reading battery life incorrectly and still not sure why. I did however verify that the battery ran exactly 9 hours on a charge while playing 1080P videos and surfing. Pretty darn good for a used laptop if you ask me. Could it run the advertised 15 hours on a new battery? I don't know what I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me if it did.I've had this for only a few days, so wanted to offer an initial impression.First the good things.1. Screen. Some have said they had issues with the brightness, but I've not seen this to be a problem so far. In fact the matte finish is great, and I will never go back to a gloss screen again. Also I don't miss having a touchscreen like I thought I would either.2. Keyboard is comfortable and easy to use. The buttons seem pretty solid and precise. The only issue I do see is that the key lights turn off after a few seconds, and yes that is annoying, and from what I have found, there is no fix.3, Touch-pad. I generally dislike touch-pads, and still use an external mouse, but this one is not too bad, and works in a pinch.4, Intel integrated CPU and GPU. I have the i5 version, although you can get this with an i7 as well. So far I'm pretty impressed. I've tested this with lots of surfing, even while running animated wallpaper, and also high definition YouTube videos at 4k(Yes I know this isn't a 4k screen, but it makes for a great test as it still puts a heavier load on the system than does 1080p), and yet the system idles on without a hiccup. temps for CPU and GPU hold around 50C, regardless if I'm streaming to the big screen via HDMI, or playing DVDS, so its my opinion for general use this should run pretty cool. As to the i7 version, I'm not sure I see any value in that. The upgrade I found for this cost another 400 dollars, and for that you would be better off getting a machine with a better video card, which comes to my next point.5. Nvidia card. I am not a gamer, but I am in the process of testing a couple small titles just to see how this will work. I was unable to play Crysis 2 because the game would not recognize the video card. That should be a small sign that this card might not be for gamers. I was however able to play apex legends season 3, but oddly it would only play on the integrated chip. I am however surprised it would play at all with this, so it gives me great hope the card will be at least a decent entry level platform as advertised.6. Size and weight. This was advertised as a bit over 5 pounds. I weighed this at just over 4. Also its listed as 1.2 inches thick, but that's only the very back of the machine to get it off the ground for airflow, the majority of the machine is under an inch, so in my opinion this is actually a very thin and light machine.7. SSD DRIVE. Do yourself a favor and never own a computer without one. This system boots and shuts down nearly instantaneously. According to the specs, this SSD is rated somewhere between 400 and 500 MBS. For those who have never used one, this is a bit over three times the performance of a 7200 rpm drive.8. Battery. I couldn't tell you how long the battery will run, because the battery pretty much needs replacing right out of the box, which is what you can get for buying a used machine. And this brings me to the bad.Its not all bad, but buyer beware. I bought mine from the Acer recertified store, and the first thing I will say is they have great customer service and very responsive with emails and are very helpful over the phone. The negative side is of course they sent me a system with a bad battery. I also found multiple deleted partitions on this, suggesting the drive was never truly wiped as it should have been. And here is the biggy. Their words not mine. " If you ever upgrade the ram or hard drive, this will void any warranty, existing or extended". This seems a bit over the top considering this laptop has easy access ports for even a hard-ware challenged person like myself to make these small changes. They also said they too were unable to upgrade this, so if you want a warranty, you have to forgo upgrades. Other resellers may not have this same policy. So check around before purchasing.Overall I understand why this machine gets such great reviews. again I will update as I use it more, but so far this is a thumbs up.

Great computer -Acer recertified not so much
Bought this computer refurbished from Back Market. Seller was the Acer recertified store. I had looked all over for this specific model because of all the awesome reviews. It has an IPS FHD screen and a DVD drive. Touch pad is super sensitive which is a con for me. (the cursor seems to have a life of its own taking you places you don't want to go) Battery life is awesome. However, I am returning it for a refund. (I have 30 days to do so). On the 10th day I noticed flickering on the screen followed by a transparent 1.5 inch vertical strip with white vertical lines running through it. This happened two days in a row, and then went away (hasn't returned since). Consulted 2 repair shops and both said it sounded like the graphics card was starting to fail. The repair would be difficult and expensive similar to a mother board. I thought of asking Acer to repair it (there was a 1 yr. warranty) but since they were the seller, I didn't have a lot of confidence in their repair work. To me refurbished means as good or better than new, so there should not have been an issue with this computer. Perhaps Amazon's Renewed is better. I have no experience with that, but am not willing to take a chance. Will likely order the Acer Aspire 5 unless I can find something comparable to the E15 at a similar price Like I said this is a great computer if it is free of bugs.

SUPER FAST, SUPER BUGGY - FIX INCLUDED with Review
GOOD: This computer is blazing fast for everyday usage--you wont be dissapointed. I added another 8GB ram, so 16GB total as well. The BAD: Screen is very dim, worse than my laptop I replaced from 4 years ago . The SUPERBAD: You will need to 1)Update your Bios to the most current version (Acer's website has the update); 2) Go to Intel's website and download the latest driver for the Integrated Intel Graphics Card 620. I also updated the driver for the NVIDIA MX 150 card which this laptop also has. If you do not update the bios and update the Intel Graphics 620 driver, the computer will randomly, frequently "crash". The screen freezes and powers off your laptop within 15 seconds or so. This happens because of the Windows 1803 and/or1809 update does not like the Intel Graphics 620 card. I spent HOURS trying to figure this out, so I hope I save you the time and frustration you would have put into this. This is an amazingly fast computer, the screen is nice HD (a little dim, however) and its quite a bargain.

Love it, matte display, fast, backlit easy-typing keyboard, HDMI & VGA ports, USB-3, USB-C
Best PC I have purchased, by far. It has a matte display - not a reflecting one, fast performance, backlit easy-typing keyboard, HDMI & VGA ports, USB-3 & USB-C ports that enable you to use two external monitors. I bought this item new on Amazon ~6 weeks ago, and am very happy with it.Small issues:- no caps-lock or num-lock indicators- usb ports are a bit tight (but usable)- battery lasted ~5.5 hours with 5 tabs, no videos or cpu-intensive applications running, and normal screen brightness(default setting is dimmer screen to increase battery life)- thanks to always flawed Windows OS, I could not create a System Image. Flash drives are classified Not Usable, and when I tried an external hard drive, I received some odd error message (there are several of these reported by other Windows 10 PC users - which you can find with a web search). Since this PC does not come with a recovery disk, I recommend you buy one. I was able to, however, able to create a Boot disk on a 16gig flash drive.
