This is a wonderful, high-quality, ample-capacity tea kettle. I am so happy with it. It pours precisely and easily, the folding handle has a very comfortable grip and is high enough above the kettle itself that one never has to worry about one's fingers feeling too hot when handling it. It's classic design is very attractive. However, the feature I am most enamored of is the lovely low-pitched double whistle build into the lid. No more screechy, nerve-grating, irritatingly demanding whistle!! Up 'til now, I always bought a kettle without a whistle because I hated the ear-piercing noise the whistles made. When my old kettle had to be replaced, I saw this one on offer from Amazon with the unusual whistle, and I thought: OK, I'll give it a try....I can always send it back if I dislike it. I love it! It has a lovely hum, rather like the sound of a far-away locomotive approaching. It's wonderful! The designer of this tea kettle for Alpine Cuisine should get an award. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Over all I am pleased with this tea kettle. It holds a lot of water which is a plus, and I LOVE that the handle can move! Otherwise it would block the clock on my stove if left on the middle burner. It doesn't always make noise, which is odd, but I've been able to tighten the inner lid (where the sound comes from) and it made the sound louder. The only other negative I have is that the picture makes this kettle look like brushed stainless steel (I was hoping it was brushed!), but it is not. It's very polished and shiny, and has to be wiped down all the time to keep it looking clean. I wish it came in different colors! But otherwise I'm happy with the kettle.

beautiful but not as advertized does not work on all induction i had to return it so very disappointed in spending so much time researching to find something i really like and have to return it because it didn't work

Looks nice. Pours well. However, I bought this for an induction cooktop, and my cooktop rejects it. A magnet sticks to the bottom, but the cooktop acts as though it were not magnetic. I thought perhaps the base was too narrow, but I have a saucepan with an even smaller base which works well. I bought this for a summer cabin. If that induction cooktop also rejects it, it is going back to Amazon.

Nice tea pot. Whistles properly. I like the way it looks however the flap that covers the spout has been welded crooked and the box that the tea pot box was in was far too small. The top of the box didn't even close it was so small so they squeezed and taped it closed anyway. My teapot was fine but I'm not sure how many would be if they're always shipped like this because the box that the teapot comes in has no protection and fits the shipping box exactly.

just the right size to do make a pot of tea or blanch veggies etc. satinized steel durable and a whistle which is a low note. flip back whistle lidon spout and the kettle still makes a lower whistle to alert you if you leave it on lower heat. Ideal for the inattentive or elderly or both.can be purchased as a 4 liter etc. looks good on the stove vaguely antique yet highly functional apparatus.

We only have one issue and that is this teapot does not really whistle. It does make a noise when the water starts to boil. Other than that it is of good quality.

Really love my new teapot! I have not had any trouble with getting this to whistle as long as it heats to boiling and the lid is on tightly. It is very easy to pour, is a nice large size, and has loads of character! Am very pleased with this teapot! :)
