Wow, what a difference.
I use this DAC/amp in three places, between my computer and 1985 Pioneer SA-1270 amp feeding 8 ohm DML speakers with Dayton exciters, driving AKG 271 headphones with 55 ohm resistance and in my car between my phone and the car stereo aux input, using Music Bee, Foobar 2000 and AIMP players. First the home stereo, huge difference in clarity and sound stage. Everyone who listens to the stereo has been floored by the sound improvement, DML speakers are usually not that great for heavy metal/rock, but with this DAC they sound great with any kind of music. I can turn the volume up a lot higher before physics steps in. The car; my Moto G phone doesn't support USB sound out so it is purely an amplifier, 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm connection. Before I couldn't get enough volume out of the phone to hear some songs with the window down without turning the preamp in the music player up until it introduced distortion. Now I have much more volume available than I need with no distortion, sounds great. The headphones; again huge difference in clarity and sound stage depth, the DAC is very neutral as are the headphones so I don't need to compensate with the equalizer. It sounded great out of the box but as I have burned it in it gets better and better. I now have 20 plus hours on the DAC and it seems to have leveled out performance wise at extremely good. Is it on a par with a $1000 DAC, no but it's every bit as good as anything I have heard for less than that including the Schitt DACS. Solid construction, the aluminum case looks to be powder coated with the end plates being anodized. The potentiometer is smooth and the checkering on it provides a positive grip. There are side guards that extend past the volume knob and output jack to protect them from knocks and drops but don't interfere with their operation. I will be buying another one so I don't have to move it between the car and home everyday. If you are in the market for an audiophile quality DAC at a realistic price, buy this.

It works exactly as advertised! I love mine!!
Hmmmm, what to say? To start, I use my iPhone 6S plus as my iPod and there is a dramatic increase in fidelity through good headphones. What are good headphones, one might ask. Well, I'd say anything in the price range of about $100 nets you a good set. I have Sennheiser in earbuds as well as a set of open and closed back cans and all there are well over $100 each. The each have a different sound character but they are great! This lil Onkyo made all three sets of phones positively shine when compared to iPhone. Even not using the DA, the Onkyo is much better. Now, I do use the Onkyo app to play my music and I haven't had any issues so far, but I've read some do have snafus connecting but I haven't.Most noticeable is the dynamics and bass. Both are more definitive, full and crisp. Highs are airy without strain and there's plenty volume. I immediately noticed that low volume sounds just like mid or mid-high volume only not as loud. That's a great sign. Further, I'm not at all tired of listening to music with my Onkyo like I can be with my iPhone alone. Music simply sounds better...period. I also found that I prefer most of my music without eq boosting with the Onkyo in place as a DA and amp. It's better with the Onkyo eq boost in the app when used without the amp. That was a surprise. All in all this is a great sounding amp. It's light, but well constructed. It has some adjustments, like low or high gain, to match the impedance of you headphones to the amp along with 3 inputs depending on how you use it: straight headphone amp using mini plug, headphone amp and DA using lightning plug to USB, or optical digital input. I've only use the first two options. The volume knob is nicely knurled and has a smooth throw but isn't too easy to accidentally adjust. It has a built in li-ion battery for about 8 hours use, and charges pretty fast in about 4 hours. It's simple but it simply work well. I'm not sure how it performs with Android devices but typically the work with less issues than Apple devices due to OS compatibility.Anyway, for the value, I think it's just peachy and well worth the money I spent on it. I still prefer my tube headphone amp for top quality sound but it lacks a DA and isn't portable.I'll post updates as I use it. For now, an awesome Dad's day gift to myself!!!Update: after almost two years of regular use, I have only a few things to say. First, the sound still is excellent, full, clear, never fatiguing and powerfully loud if I choose. The single negative is the internal battery doesn’t seem to last as long as when new...go figure?! It gets about half the life now. I think this is normal for a battery, but it brings up two issues for improvement: one, I’d love a battery meter. Two, a user replaceable battery. Those two items would make this lil headphone/DAC outstanding.I still use this more than my tube amp which is my favorite amp for serious musical enjoyment....why? Because it is handy, sounds great and physically unobtrusive. I love it!!

Solid construction with plenty of quality volume
It's a wired connection both in and out. Very good sound quality and power. I wish the battery would last longer but it is sufficient. Very well built with minimal moving parts. It's been part of my gear set up since I got it. I use it most of the time with my iPhone 11 Pro and use the phone to EQ and a primary volume control. Works perfectly.

Not fully working for iPhone
I bought this DAC to mainly use it with my iPhone 6s, the set-up is very straight forward, the sound quality is a huge improvement compared to the iPhone’s, and so the power is for my 50 ohms cans.My complaint comes when using it with my iPhone. It can be heard an almost imperceptible background noise (some sort of “digital noise”) that appears randomly. I’ve tried eliminating it by switching the hook up cable by different lengths, but the noise still there. In the other hand, when I use it hooked to my laptop the sound is rich and beautiful.

Must have for Hi-Res headsets
Mind breaking product. Must have if you use any expensive Hi-Res headset for listening High-Resolution Audio like Apple Lossless or FLAC 24-bit files, 96kHz-192kHz versions. Plus it is Onkyo, those guys know to do sound magic.Onkyo DAC-HA200 moves mobile music listening experience to the next level. Natural, colorless, studio-level sound, amazing clarity, details, musical instruments and voice localization. No any mobile devices play even close. Some standalone high-end DACs for $1K+ might produce better quality audio (like my Onkyo P-3000R pre-amp), but that one is portable. Device itself is small and light enough to care everywhere, smaller then novaday smartphones.Highly recommend!

ソースはJUJU「I」から「Love is Like」これはCD盤も買っているので比較しました。
