Hama 44746 Standard CD Jewel Case, pack of 10, transparent/black

I've road tested more replacement CD jewel cases than the average man, always hunting for something vaguely equivalent to the premium quality you get (or more accurately, used to get) with the proper cases that come with some/most new CDs... sadly, these aren't it. Better than the ultra-thin cheap rubbish I've seen elsewhere but not by much; these open/close OK and are sized fine but the plastic is quite thin and has too much give and also has a blue tinge on the edges rather than being absolutely crystal clear. The black trays don't even have the CD logo in the corner. Which would be fine but these are priced much higher than, say, the Vision Media ones which IMHO are as good if not better. Also one of the five cases arrived cracked. Amazon gave a partial refund. I won't be buying these again. The hunt continues...

Bought a CD from Amazon and when I opened it the CD fell out of the case. On inspection all of the plastic spikes that hold the CD in place had broken off. No idea how this could have happened as it was sealed. So solution was to souce some new CD jewl cases. When these arrived I swapped over the paper sleeves from the original CD and one of the plastic sleeves broke. So tried another one and this was fine until i placed the CD in and found the centre spikes did not grip the CD. So third time lucky the CD was gripped as it should be. So out of 5 two are in the recycling bin.

These cases are exactly what is described: standard size - that is, the size in which a normal shop-bought CD/DVD is encased. They are clear plastic with a small logo at the top left and bottom right of the reverse. They are reasonably robust, but out of 3 deliveries (2 at 25 cases and one at 30) only one was delivered without any damage, in each of the the other two deliveries I found 5 were found to be damaged in some way - perhaps a higher rate of loss than I would think is acceptable. Still, I would buy again if I could rely upon the courier (I have found it impossible to leave a review about delivery which was exceptionally poor on two occasions).

These jewel cases are a good replacement for cracked or broken ones, they are reasonable quality and only a little lighter in weight (61 grams) than the originals that I replaced (2 were 69 grams). They are slightly more flexible than the originals but that could be a good thing as they are less likely to crack. I am pleased with these jewel cases.

Should have read the previous reviews - nothing much wrong with the product - all arrived broken though, reading others people's stories of replacements also arriving broken I would suggest you don't bother ordering and buy from somewhere that will make an effort to package better for transit.

Great quality and fast service. One was broken on arrival and was quickly replaced no problem at all. Think it must have been broken in transit so maybe better packaging or fragile label would avoid this in future. Highly recommend and will buy again. Better quality than you get when buying a cd.

I don't have much to say really, these are premium quality CD cases to the correct size which completed the task they were assigned by me (Protect my TDK CD's which I had recently been working on), also they are "clean plastic" as I like to call it because they are actually clear instead of having a hint of another colour in them. Also, these are good for replacing broken CD cases as they almost share the identical dimensions of your average CD case and are not just cheap low quality thin cases.Altogether I was really pleased with this buy and if I ever need a spare CD case(s) then I will know where to look, high quality premium CD protecting cases.Hope you found this review helpful, thanks, James ;)

I have just received my package of 5 CD cases and EVERY case was either broken or fractured. There are numerous pieces of broken plastic pieces within the sealed cellophane. What a waste of money!There is no way I will recommend this product.
