Great taste...for a rather high price
Stagg chili is great...the best canned chili we have found. But there numerous varieties of the chili by Stagg. This one is probably one of the more expensive. We were able to by Stagg chili at Costco. Unfortunately, Costco is not carrying it ( probably a "lesser version" than bought on line, but so great tasting). The version bought on line is great tasting but is rather expensive. More expensive than I think I am willing to spend in the future.

Simply delicious
It’s difficult to describe how good this chili is. It’s thoroughly satisfying, full of meat, with just the right amount of heat.

First time seen: with beans version
Stagg Steakhouse Reserve Chili with Beans - 6 pac: "No Beans," was my favorite canned chili for many years until it suddenly disappeared from store shelves & online a few years ago. I still checked Amazon every few months. So I was very surprised to see a previously unknown "with beans" version on Amazon. I missed the Steakhouse taste so much that I forked over almost $5./can for the "with beans." The 6 pac arrived quickly. Despite being double boxed, 3 of the cans were dented. The boxes looked fine so I think the cans were packed already dented. At least the seals were intact. I ate the 1st can within an hour of arrival. The expected euphoria of tasting my long lost favorite didn't happen. The chili was very good, but not what I remembered. Toward the end of the meal I realized that my memories were rose colored and that the actual taste was the same as it was years ago. But the meat was definitely cut differently. The cubed pieces had very smooth edges where previously the shape wasn't so smooth or uniform. There were even several double size rectangular pieces, twice as wide as high. The same day the cans arrived, they went out of stock so there'll be no immediate re-order. I hope that this Stagg variety hasn't also been discontinued.

The best prepared chili you can buy in a store, canned or not.
I am not big on canned food. I don't even eat canned soup, usually. I am not big on prepared Chili or Chili mixes. I usually make my Chili from scratch and it's always been worth the effort. While no canned Chili will replace a really good homemade batch, this Stagg canned Steakhouse Reserve Chili is amazing for a quick meal. I often use it to make Chili Con Queso or just because I have a craving for some chili flavor but hadn't planned to or made the time to prepare it fresh. More importantly, if a natural disaster strikes and leaves me without power and with nothing but canned food, I am very happy that I will have some of this on reserve instead of some crap brand that substitutes ketchup and salt for flavor.

The absolute best canned chili I have ever tasted!
I like Chili, but don't generally cook my own, so I generally end up eating caned chili, which tends to be mediocre, which I had resigned msyelf to. When i tried this chili, my expectations were forever changed, and it became the standard against which all canned ( and most home made) chilis are judged. Quite simply this chili isn't just good by the standards of canned chili, it holds its own against most fresh pots of chili! If you love chili and want good chili, and don't mind paying a bit extra for it, you'll be quite satisfied with Stag Steakhouse Reserve.Pros:-tastes great-nice rich consistency-high quality meat in the chili (both ground meat and even chunks of steak!)-High protein ( 20 grams per 250 calorie serving as I recall!), and lower fat/calorie than most other chiliscons:-like many good chilis, it is a little spicy ( though nothing extreme), so if you are very sensitive to hot spicy foods, this may be a bit much for you-it is a bit expensive

The BEST Canned Chili
I can't find this stuff anywhere locally, so I'm willing to be gouged online to get it.This stuff is amazing, and I was willing to spend close to $4 a can to get it because it's no in any of my local grocery stores. It's not watery. The taste is amazing. I don't even like beans, but they are hardly noticeable. There's a nice kick from the green chiles, but nothing overpowering.Once you have this chili, you will never want another canned chili again... or perhaps even homemade!

Sent damaged. Can’t return.
The stagg chili box was completely falling apart, damaged and looked very old. every single can in the box was damaged in multiple spots with the wrapper coming off. I expected a little bit of denting because of shipping but this clearly happened before it was shipped. this item is not eligible for return so now I’m just out $28 for six cans of chili that I can’t use because the cans are so damaged.
