GREAT! Except ???
It was a surprise when I got it. It was better than what I expected. It is a great monitor.Update!July 31st 2013I had a problem with the Monitor. It developed what appeared to be a small rectangle in the lower left center of the screen. It was not big but it was there. You could see it when the screen was white. This area was brighter than the rest of the screen.I contacted AMAZON Customer service and they did a great job of resolving this. They sent me a replacement and I was a little surprised that the new one looks better than the one I had. There was no problems with it. I noticed that the new monitor had a different Logo on the back. It was white versus the one I had which was off white. I do not know what could be the difference other than the image is sharper.I really appreciate what Amazon did to fix this. I was upset when I discovered that there was a defect with the monitor with it only being a few months old.I had a ViewSonic monitor before and is one of the reason I bought this one.November 15th 2013 another Update. I am sad to say I discovered the word Backlight Bleeding. It has just been a few days and I have noticed as I was watching Video's that there was a glow surrounding the Screen which was not normal. I contacted the Manufacturer and they had me send a picture of the screen. The Tech Support agent said that it was not normal and that there was something wrong. That is when he told me the word Backlight Bleeding. This appears to be a problem with LED monitors which is not normal. Amazon was really great in solving this problem and they are sending me a replacement. I will update you more as I find out what I am going to expect. It is now November 19th 2013, I am experiencing Manufacturing Defects with the Replacement Monitors that Amazon attempted to replace the Monitor that had the Back Light Bleeding issue. They sent me two monitors with the same defect. They appear to have what looks like glue on the bottom of the screen. One monitor was worse than the other. It also was not properly assembled. The screen and fame did not meet properly. Amazon handled this situation very professionally and are investigating this issue by pulling the monitor from sales for the next seven days to see if there is a problem with their stock. They are going to call me back next week to inform me what they find. They will send me another monitor if there is no problems. I feel good about this because it better to do this than risk sending me another monitor with problems. I also have been reading up on Monitors and It is like buying a Sports Car. I narrowed it down to two manufactures, Viewsonic and ASUS. I think Viewsonic is the best out of them all. ASUS might have more features though. It is a tough decision. I think I prefer the Design of the Viewsonic Monitor because it has less distracting markings on the fame surrounding the monitor. I don't know what I want to do to resolve this. I am hoping that AMAZON will find a Viewsonic Monitor with no issues. I still would give this monitor 5 Stars because of the Image Quality. I hope I do not have to change this if there is no solution to this problem.

Great monitor terrible customer service.
I have been waiting about a month now for a response from viewsonic. I bought this monitor after a house fire I was going to hook it up with display port so I bought a mini display port adapter not noticing that it was standard so I lived with dvi till now. I bought a mini to standard display port adapter plugged it in flawless. About an hour later I hear a pop like something blew and start thinking I would have to replace it. Does this several times and blanks out swap out to dvi works fine still no answer from viewsonic. Hopefully this will get their attention.

Nice, but Prefer the 24"
I wanted to share my experience after having purchased both this monitor and the Viewsonic VG2436WM-LED 24" from Amazon. When I got the 24" it was love at first sight! So nice ; And maybe it's because that unit arrived first, but when I received this one I was not as impressed. Why? This 27" feels gangly and the image is not as "crisp".Although only 3" larger, this monitor is a beast. It shakes and wobbles under it's own weight when making height or screen adjustments. The footprint is round compared to the more square-ish base of the 24", so no real difference there. On the other hand, this monitor is at least 50% thicker across the entire back, all the way to the edges. Conversely, the 24" is quite thin and only thickens in back where the stand attaches. Suffices to say the 27" looks imposing when sitting on my desktop. The image quality of this monitor is nice. However, it's not as pleasant as the 24" -- in MY opinion. I cannot stress that enough. It's going to come down to personal preference and the way in which you use your monitor. If you're unsure of which size you need/want, then try to see them both in person. For me, the 24" has turned out to be more ergonomic. When using the 27" for desktop work...it's just too big, too close. The pixels are more "noticeable", for lack of a better word. However, if I back up in my chair and put on a movie, then the 27" is much more in its element. And I've got to put this in a separate paragraph because I just find it so odd! The small power LED on the 27" is located underneath the bottom of the monitor. Did I mention the light is small? As you might have guessed, it's impossible to see the light unless I'm sitting at my desk...and sitting low! It's the strangest thing. I have no idea why Viewsonic did this. In essence, there is no power light...unless I bend down to see it...or work in a very dark room lolKeep in mind the 24" and the 27" have the same screen resolution. In other words, they each have the same screen real estate. You cannot fit more onto the 27"; what's on that screen is just bigger. In my opinion the 24" is better built, sturdier, and has a more pleasing image for desktop use. The 27" might be a more fun option if used primarily at a distance for movies or gaming.

A decent monitor... for Windows only!
While connecting my windows laptop gives me a reasonable image quality and a good value for the price, the monitor driver for my Macbook 13 totally sucks: type fonts show blurred and hard to read. A couple of hours working on my gmail gave me a headache. I contacted both Apple and Viewsonic, and I'll I got is one blaming the other and vice-versa. If you have a Macbook and are capable of walking without glasses, you'll hate this.
