Hunters Specialties Realtree Xtra Green Leafy Head Net

Since a number of folks complain about the "white". ...Camo needs to match the area you hunt. Realtree pattern doesn't work well in coastal woods because the woods are dark and brown + dark green. White "aspen bark" in Realtree stands out. It doesn't work well in dry grass because the pattern has too much green. Not the manufacturers fault ... know your quarry's ability and the background, then buy appropriately.My reason for the review is to let you know two things. I've given this to three men to try and all of them have a problem with the lower outside corner of the eye hole. It is not like in the picture; it tapers up too quickly and "bugs" the lower eyelashes. They've changed the design; the product does not match the instructions. In the instructions there are two elastic straps. One is attached at the upper outside of the eye hole and goes around the head above the ear. The second is attached to the lower outside corners of the eyehole and goes around the head below the ear. Without that lower strap, this veil is only going to work on small heads. Now there is one strap attached a little above pupil level. This changes the hole from a rectangle to an oval. I wear a medium hat (my head isn't big) and this doesn't work for me. I'll be modifying it so it works.

I used this for most of our 70+ degree PA archery season. It concealed me while helping keep cool. I did have to trim a little of the leaves away from the eyes. They were distracting when they waved in the wind. I'll probably be using it again in the spring looking to fool an old tom.

You know how you buy something and it comes with directions, but you never read them?? Yea, I do that too. I wore this thing for most of the season the wrong way. Now that I have it down, I think it's great. I wear glasses, and the wide eye slot helps. This cover is mostly net with a leaf cover. The only negative thing I have to say about this net is that the leaf isn't printed on both sides. It doesn't effect me here, as there is a lot of grey where I hunt, but it may not match up to your areas vegetation.

Only good for use in the hot weather. To be honest, you may as well buy a fur face mask. Pretty itchy as well. But for the money it is okay I guess.

Leaves / foliage could be a little darker. Both sides of the faux foliage should be colored. One side is white. problematic because leaves are not white. Other than that I gave it 5 stars still because its cheap and very good for the price. Will most likely get an unscented green marker and color the backsides.

Bought for spring turkey season to go with my leafy jacket. Its kinda loud and bulky for my liking. Its an ok mask. nothing special about it.

I love it!! I was going to buy military face paint but for concealment, this is soooo much easier.. It is very light weight, so much that it fits in a ziplock snack pack Baggie with room to spare!! A great product and works well with my camo bandana worn as a skullcap..
