Bewakoofiyaan (Blu-ray)

I enjoyed the movie. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sonam Kapoor doing a good job of starting off a movie funny but managing to make it real when it counts. This isn't a heavy-duty movie. Date night fluff, but some good acting too. I personally didn't like the dance scenes in the middle of everything. It felt like the characters had to break character to become dancers in the middle of a non-musical movie. I notice Bollywood movies do that a lot, so I suppose it's a cultural thing. In American films, unless it's a musical, no one does formation dancing all of a sudden in the middle of a movie. I did not, however, let that affect my score. If I was rating this movie between 1 and 10, this would be a 6.5 or 7.0 for me. I recently purchased the digital movie so I could watch it on Amazon anytime (even though I have the blu ray disc). I was disappointed. They cut a small part out that was not necessary. It is a scene that, in India, would have said intermission, but that little scene had an artistic value in conveying what was happening to the characters. The camera is focused on a part of the building high up, which shows the reflection of the couple as they are walking away from each other. That shot was prophetic of what was about to happen with their relationship. It is foreshadowing of them walking in opposite directions now, and the scene was beautifully done. They cut the song and the scene where it is picked up feels awkward and sticks out like a sore thumb because it was roughly done.

many people don't understand meaning of entertainment. to me it means that i am entertained.i don't watch a movie to understand world problems. i watch a movie to be entertained.this was a light comedy love story with a happy ending. exactly the kind of entertainment i wanted and i was entertained.what i really care in a movie for entertainment is a good story. no technical glitches and specially no over acting. it have all of it. rishi, sonum and Ayushmann all played it very naturally. Specially Rishi was awesome but most importantly all the supporting actors played it totally natural and no over acting by anyone. so i give full credit to Director Nupur Asthana to keep everyone act natural and normal.i am not talking about story at all. but if you like and typical indian love story with light comedy then this is movie you wanna watch.I totally love it.last but not least i wish that rishi would have lived another 50 years so we could see more of his wonderful work. this stupid covid year of 2020 took his life.

Story seemed practical, Rishi Kapoor as the concerned but level headed father evaluating a guy not only based on his job but on his character was very good. People do drift apart when money matters come into picture - no one likes to say it but it happens and ego keeps them apart. The couple realizes whats important at the end and that makes this a feel good movie. Very relatable and I liked it which I didn't think I would. Good acting by all actors and story moved at a good pace.

This movie is for Rishi Kapoor fans. He shines as the tough outside but melted-butter-soft at heart father of the beautiful Sonam Kapoor (no relation, she is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor). A powerful movie with a powerful message about the lifestyle and values of the current hedonistic youth of India's upper middle classes, spending like there was no tomorrow maxing out on their credit cards. When the young protagonist loses his job in marketing right after having received a promotion, he loses his way in the complications of the steadily worsening economic pincers. His girlfriend stands by him and supports him as long as she can, and then takes an overseas assignment to chart her own course in the financial world. Then Rishi Kapoor (current Indian movie heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor's real life father) steps in to bring the estranged lovebirds together, using tough love, humor and a huge dose of earthy common sense.A movie for the ages. Don't miss it.

Loved it. I was skeptical at first however, it turned out to be a good movie. All of the characters had their individual strengths that added to the effectiveness of the movie.
